Hmmmm, might make this year's meet if a work trip doesn't coincide.
Would be great to see some of these cars up close and meet some of members of course. Does Rochester conduct himself like he does on here? Or in reality is he some quiet mope from upstate NY? You know, like Larry David is an exaggerated version of himself on Curb...
I think Roch is definitely in my top 5 favorite people on this forum for sure, and that includes Sean as well. And I'm truly mean that. They bring alot of knowledge to us with a sense of maturity and also have a great sense of humor all at the same time. That's rare in my eyes here.
Thanks for the kind words.
It's not false modesty to say: Rochester's Nissan knowledge and tenure on the forums is several orders of magnitude greater than mine. I'll never be in his category. I can supply maturity in spades, though....
Chill????? Rochester is a total madman!
I met him for the first time at a public park. And everything was pretty calm, until four guys playing frolf got a little too close. The only thing I can remember him saying was "get the F away from my car!" Shortly after that my ears started bleeding from verbal assault he put down. But I can tell you this, I've never seen anything like it. They turned and ran so fast!
^^ Is this a true story?!?! Bc if it is Roch just became even cooler in my book! Bwwwhahahaha!
No. Igit.
I met up with somename at a local park the week after I got my STS and transmission mount, so I could show it off to someone who understands the car. We talked about the cars for 15 minutes, then went for a short drive. But I had to cut it short after the school nurse called about one of my kids.
I'm just a keyboard jockey. That's all. For that matter, so is VIVID. Completely unremarkable old dudes with a hobby interest in their DD. Almost nobody here is cool. You know what I did today that was awesome? I changed the spark plugs in my wife's Honda CR-V before spending the day at a U15 Girls Soccer tournament where my 12 year old is the goalie. She's actually cool... I'm just her Dad.

A NISMO fuel cap cover.
An AUTECH oil cap.
A TopSecret tote bag signed by Smoky Nagata himself.
All items are 100% authentic, but that doesn't really matter as this is to benefit children who are not feeling well.
We will draw for each item separately so there will be three winners.
Tickets are $2.00 each, or 5 for $10.00...
The drawing will be in the pavilion at 5:00 PM. If you have a ticket but need to leave before then, give your ticket to a friend who can claim your prize if you win. We won't be contacting winners or mailing prizes.
ALL proceeds, including those that are freely given, will be forwarded on to the CHOP in our name.
Finally, let's start filling up the 'items to bring' sheet in the first couple of posts. DM/PM me and I'll add you.
Thanks,
Sean

Reason: SPelling
So going from Neptune to Orange you'll pretty much be driving by me Exit 136 off of Garden State parkway
hey Mike, it's been a while since I'd checked this topic. Sorry for the late response. Has it yet been decided as to where we're going to meet up prior to heading out to PA?

Not yet as far as I know, I guess it's time to start figuring that out with all the NJ members and participants. Any ideas? It'd be a great start to know where each one of us is coming from to figure out a decent meet up spot

agreed! Should we poll for suggestions based on where people are coming from? Assuming that we'd ultimately take 80W to PA, Morristown looks to be a good huddle, as we can easily transition from 287N to 80W. However, it's been 10 years since I'd left Jersey, so I'm open to suggestions.
I'm picking up my brother in Orange, so I'd leave Neptune early for that and then head out from there. Not sure if you'd want to meet up to tag along for that pickup.

Yeah Mike.
In the first post or two there is a current roster. It may not be specific for the city but at least you'll know your target audience. You could start there by reaching out to peeps to see who wants to do a mass-blast...
