See if you can go back to place that did yours and ask them to take it out and store it, them reinstall it. Hopefully cheaper price.

In the last 3 weeks, my battery died twice. Jumping it with another car didn't work either so I had to call AAA. I was later told by the dealer that the engine requires 12 Volts to jump and a basic jump from another car only puts in 6. I also had my 12 month servicing last weekend and the dealership checked my battery. All the tests showed that the battery was 100% good.

My car is almost exactly one year old and only has 8,000 miles. I don't have any electronics plugged into the car either that would drain the battery. Yesterday morning, my car wouldn't start AGAIN. But this time, the battery seemed fine. All the lights in the car and the main console turned on and functioned beautifully. Basically, I'd press the button to turn the engine on and the engine would make that noise like it's trying its hardest to turn on but can't. The car even started shaking a little. Seemed more like an engine or electric issue, not a battery issue.

I called up Glendale Infiniti and told them my car wouldn't start and how the battery has died twice in the past 3 weeks. The guy there told me not the get the car jumped and to have it towed over because then they'll be more inclined to replace the battery (if that's the issue) if I bring the car dead. So it takes the tow truck guy 2 hours to get to my car. Then traffic is about another hour to the dealership. I get to the dealership right before the service department is closing. The guy gets in my car AND IT STARTS. I'm baffled by it all. They're going to look at the car on Monday and let me know what's going on and hopefully give it back to me that day (so they say). The service guy had zero idea what could be the issue. I asked for a loaner car and they said I shouldn't have gotten to them so late and that they didn't have any. What a pain.

Let me know if you guys think I'm probably having the same battery issues as everyone else. I've got a 2009 G37S sedan.

according to the TSB "ITB 10-010" the dealer has to "replace the battery with the GR24-series one from the Parts Information section of this bulletin." In the parts section it says "if needed" I hope mine is "needed" I have had my car at the dealer for over a week waiting for the BCM to come in. The dealer said I am #27 out of 30 in the shipment coming to the USA.

Tell them that the repeated battery drains shortens the life of the battery and that you'd be more comfortable with the upgraded battery. If they balk, call corporate.

Update: Just had the dealer deliver my car. They did the tsb# ITB10-010. They replaced the "valve assembly control-14935-jf00a, Battery 999m1-qc24f, and controller assembly BC-284B1-JK75B". I am very satisfied that this has finally gotten fixed. If you are having battery issues, mention this TSB! Total bill if not under warranty would have been $640.00 OUCH!

I have a question for the guys that got their BCM replaced already. Does you auto lights function still work? I had my BCM replaced today and the auto function on my headlights does not work nor do I have the auto light sensitivity function in the settings menu now.

I want to determine if I got a bad BCM or if this is happening to you guys to.

Let me know

Thanks

Before finding this thread I started a similar one in the "audio video and electronics" forum. In December, my dealer knew nothing about the TSB and did nothing with my first complaint. This time, they were aware of the TSB and started the fix. I, like most, have to wait for the backordered BCM. At least the valve assembly and battery have been replaced.

I wonder how many '08 couple owners have replaced batteries that will probably also fail and still don't know about the TSB. It seems this should be a recall issue where owners are notified, rather than a TSB that requires an owner complaint to the dealer to be fixed.

ECM REPROGRAMMING
1. Begin the reprogramming procedure.
• If you are not familiar with the reprogramming procedure, click here. This will link you to the “CONSULT-III (C-III) ECM Reprogramming” general procedure.
CAUTION:
• Connect a battery charger to the vehicle battery.
If the 12V battery voltage drops during reprogramming, the ECM may be damaged .
• Be sure to turn OFF all vehicle electrical loads.
If a vehicle electrical load remains ON, the ECM may be damaged.
• For ECM reprogramming, the C-III MUST be connected to the VI using the USB cable.
• Be sure to connect the AC Adapter.
If the C-III battery voltage drops during reprogramming, the process will be interrupted and the ECM will be damaged.
2. When you get to the ECM Reprogramming screen shown in Figure 1, confirm this bulletin applies as follows:
A. On your C-III screen, look at the Part Number column (see Figure 1)
• If this column is blank (no part number listed), proceed to VENT CONTROL VALVE TYPE CHECK

Interesting to hear about the Auto light functionality being lost, it seems when they fix one thing they break another!! I have had the vcv and new battery and it seems to be okay for last 3 weeks, but then again I havent left the car sitting for a while either...but I also dont want to lose my auto lights =/

I just got my car back from the dealer a week and a half ago after waiting 4 WEEKS for the back ordered BCM. I'm happy to say that my auto headlights (and everything else on the car) are working fine.

When I picked up the car I was really happy to find out that in addition to replacing the BCM, they also replaced the VCV and put in an upgraded battery.

I just had the BCM replaced (back ordered for 5 wks) also due to this TSB. I was under the impression that all body and driver settings would be lost such as seat, mirror, steering positions, TPMS, FOB but the settings were there. I'm not sure if the dealer reset TPMS but the paperwork says they reporogrammed all keys.

The only thing is that I have the car programmed to seat position memory 1 upon unlock and that works only with one fob but not the other. Wonder if that is a fob function to transmit that info.

Dealer said that there was no problem with the vent control valve, so they just swapped out the 600CCA battery with the Infiniti 700CCA unit. Hope this will do the trick after babying and worrying about the battery for 18 months. I only had to call for the Infiniti Customer Service tow truck 4 times in that period, mostly so I could get out of the garage, as I am not going to buy a battery charger for this $40K car. This better work or it will be definitely the last Infiniti we buy...never had so many warranty issues with any other GM, Ford, or Toyota (altho' Toyota has been disappointing)...maybe I am being a bit harsh as this more expensive car has more advanced parts, but we expect more quality control as well.

if the dealer were to replace the BCM what parts would they need to remove the center console /trim?

what about the valve? Reason I'm asking is i have the vci pac nis module to integrate my gps to the stock screen and i'm afraid if they remove the trim and need to change the BCM they might break something or decide not to warranty it

The BCM looks to be on the lower right side of the passenger foot well. Not sure about the vent control valve, but seems like it would be the EVAP[orative emissions] canister purge volume control solenoid valve, which is near the engine intake.
