There really isn't much of a creative way. You don't want to bend them too much or else they wont spin so freely. The other thing you can do is bring them out of the carpet on top so they are not just hanging like mine.

My extenders were very flexible.... I didnt snap a pic yet but from the 2 already posted mine are not sticking out as far as your guys... i dont think...lol

 

well my left one isnt really sticking out much and i will probably push the right one a little further in when not using and just pull it to spin. Plus, don't really care much, its in the trunk lol.

I cant... my wheels will be goin on in a week or so i hope... so theres no need to slam em until I know how the new wheels are goin to fit...

 

It will settle but only a ver small amount. Maybe another .1-.25 inch.
