hey guys. I'll be in San Diego around the mid august timeframe with my G. Are there any meets planned or just a spot where people just meet and hang out?

There's always Cars and Coffee in Irvine or Carlsbad on Saturday.

There will prob be dinner meets, small meets, etc... randomly throughout the week.

hey guys, i'm looking for shops and recommendations of places in san diego to get some work done. actually, just one thing really.

i'm looking to paint/powdercoat/whatever my four stock wheels (09 G37S 6MT coupe) black to match my black obsidian paint. BUT, i don't want the whole wheel done, just the spokes (all the way to the edge of the wheel), so that way, there is still a silver/stock/chrome "lining" between my tire and the newly blackened wheel.

i thought i had seen a picture of someone who had done this on the forum, but i couldn't find it from a search. regardless, does anyone 1) know/recommend a place to get this done, 2) the cost, and 3) recall seeing such a post with these pictures that i've been describing?

thanks fellas

I don't really know about custom paint/powdercoating down here, but other work I'd look at Group 5, then Pann Auto. You could give them both a call and see if they recommend any shops for paint in the area. I've never seen this done before, but honestly I don't see that turning out well because of the lack of any hard dividing line between the spokes and the lip/barrel. It might look a bit odd up close, is what I'm getting at.

Actually if anyone can recommend a good shop, I need some body kit fitting and paint work, so maybe we can kill two birds with one stone here.

really? you haven't seen that done before? i guess i must be confused because i could've sworn i saw someone on this forum do that to their black 6MT coupe before. (argh, where was that picture?) but you know what i'm describing right? essentially the whole wheel is black, except their is a outside edge/lining that is the OEM silver metal that is untouched.

I think I know what you're saying now. I thought you were talking about the whole barrel of the wheel being silver, which would look a bit strange. Yeah that might look good actually. Let me know if you find a place down here.
