Yeah, the outer rim gets pretty messed up. You'll want to redo with new tires.

Also, somebody asked about taping/masking the tires... yes, you should. I use a deck of playing cards though instead of tape. The cards just pop right in between tire and wheel and mask the tire just fine... much quicker than a good tape-job.
