As other people have said, it does depend on driving conditions - on the throttle hard = very quick shifts. Shifting up off throttle and standard driving = more casual shifts. Downshifts while braking (hard driving) = very quick shifts.

Do I wish they were better? Yes, but the trans isn't a Dual Clutch. If they were bad, I wouldn't drive with them 100% of the time

I have seen videos of extremely expensive cars with similar or worse paddle lag

P.s. I have also had all the relevant trans software updates
a DCT is quicker mechanically no argument there but the G37 auto tranny can shift quick on its own which means that mechanically it can do it so that delay must be intentional 😡
