DMV - help with sedan sunroof drain fix (re-route to A/C drain)
Hi all,
Just checking to see if there are members near the DC metro area who could lend a helping hand with fixing the sunroof drain issue. My plan is to completely re-route both driver and passenger side drain tubes to bypass the existing firewall drain plugs, and instead have them drain through the existing A/C drain that exits the car near the passendar footwell. I've got the materials already, just need to buy the interior trim removal tools.
Tried asking some nearby shops for help, but they each walked away from doing a project like this. And didn't even try to ask dealerships (I'm sure they'd be happy to charge me $$$ to replace the drain plugs that will not address the design flaw).
Hope it goes without saying, very happy to compensate for the time and effort.
Thanks for considering

Not rocket science, just a pain in the ***.
A labor of love really, just do it yourself.
Better yet, concript small children, or an asian girlfriend, to help you out.
(small hands)
Pay them with candy or headpats, respectively.

I have to agree with SkysG37. Don't overthink it. If you played with "Legos" as a child then you can do this mod.
Sure, smaller hands would be helpful, but If my old arthritic hands could do the job I am sure you will have no problems.
Remember, these are drain lines so they are not pressurised. As long as the lines are sloped down with no bends or kinks and the connections are solid you will be fine.

Haha no rugrats around (yet)! But might somehow convinve the girlfriend to lend the hand. I'm tall/lanky so mainly concerned with how well I'll be able to get in there (eg, get down in that footwell to snake the tubing thru the center console).
Thanks for the words of encouragement fellas, maybe I'll do myself a favor and start with the passenger side (gotta protect the BCM afterall).
