Want to Buy a G37, Not Sure Which to Buy

Hi,

I am a new user and I'm really interested in buying a G37! I want to hopefully spend less than 18,000 or so, because I really would like to black it out and lower it and honestly make it look like many of the G37's I've seen on here. I'm new to buying one and would really appreciate any help on which model to buy (coupe, sedan), which year, and really just anything in regards to buying one so that I can black it out and lower it and make it look like many of the examples I've seen on here. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

I'd consider looking into a coupe for look you're aiming for. You can find one at a decent price acceptable mileage for your price range. Pre 2012 have a rare timing gasket issues which costs about 2 grand or so just to fix but as I said it's rare but it can happen unfortunately.

Shop around on different sites such as...

New Cars, Used Cars - Find Cars for Sale and Reviews at Autotrader

I'm sure you'll find the right car for the right price you just have to look and shop around. When you find one thay may interest you send us a link and we will give you our opinions on said car otherwise overall I truly believe Infinitis are extremely reliable cars and look and feel great to drive.

Best of luck and keep us posted with different cars that you find for our opinions on whether or not it's a good deal to get into or if it's overpriced or has any defaults.

It really depends what you want out of the car. Do you usually transport more than 2 people, or can you live with 2 back seats that wouldn't be comfortable for anyone taller than 5'2"? Prices are definitely dropping as we come closer to the new Q60 release, so you'll see more inventory of G37's on the market.

As a correction to what Kenny said, I believe it's the pre-2012 models that have the paper gaskets. Nevertheless, be sure you check for signs of leaking.

Lastly, if you're deciding between a base model and a sport model, go with the sport. For a marginal increase in price, you're getting a lot of goodies like 19" wheels, Akebono big brakes, sport seats, stiffer suspension, paddle shifters (for automatics), etc. Let us know what you find in your area, and we can all give you an idea of what you should be looking for!

I wish it were a pre-2010 problem. Then I wouldn't have to worry about fronting a bill or even worse...dealing with Infiniti customer service.

If you don't need people in the back seat all the time I'd go coupe all the way.

In terms of your price range I think you can get one for about 18k with 50k miles or so. You are going to have to search to find the right price and color combo. I would personally look for one without a warranty if you plan on modding. They tend to charge more with used cars that come with warranties and you will probably end up voiding a bunch of stuff as you start modding.

Once you have the car come back here and tons of ppl will give you advice on lowering etc...

Just razzing you OP.....listen, the majority of cars I have owned have always been black and I have always murdered them. So please buy a coupe, honestly a sedan or convertible just does not have the sinister potential of a Coupe.
