Want to Buy a G37, Not Sure Which to Buy
Hi,
I am a new user and I'm really interested in buying a G37! I want to hopefully spend less than 18,000 or so, because I really would like to black it out and lower it and honestly make it look like many of the G37's I've seen on here. I'm new to buying one and would really appreciate any help on which model to buy (coupe, sedan), which year, and really just anything in regards to buying one so that I can black it out and lower it and make it look like many of the examples I've seen on here. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Blacked out is so "yesterday" ..... but there is a lot of information on this site about the models, the issues with earlier ones (aka inner timing gasket) so do some searches and reading and you will find the answers.

So let me get this straight because I am a little confused.... do you want to black it out and lower it and make it look like many of the G37's you have seen on here?

Haha, I'm sorry if I did anything to upset you guys. I'm just interested in purchasing a G37 after looking around and realizing that the value for them is a great deal for what I am purchasing compared to something like a 3 series BMW or something else. I've read great things and I'm interested in just learning more about what I'm getting into when buying a G37 that I would (possibly) like to lower and put some black rims on because I think that's a decent look.

Don't listen to them man they're only messing around with you bc you're new
I'd consider looking into a coupe for look you're aiming for. You can find one at a decent price acceptable mileage for your price range. Pre 2012 have a rare timing gasket issues which costs about 2 grand or so just to fix but as I said it's rare but it can happen unfortunately.

I'm sure you'll find the right car for the right price you just have to look and shop around. When you find one thay may interest you send us a link and we will give you our opinions on said car otherwise overall I truly believe Infinitis are extremely reliable cars and look and feel great to drive.
Best of luck and keep us posted with different cars that you find for our opinions on whether or not it's a good deal to get into or if it's overpriced or has any defaults.

OK, I'll be serious .... I have a '08 Journey model with 90k miles and it has been very reliable. It's a 5 AT and while it's not the greatest it's been problem free. Only issue we had is the BT module failed so since my wife at the time used it a lot for work we had it replaced ($600). Had the oil presure checked and so far so good (no gasket issues). Here is the deal with the G, It's a good looking car, performance is OK (not blistering) and while the interior is getting a little tired it's a great mix of comfort, ride, performance, looks, luxury and reliability. All models have the same engine except for the IPL version, a few extra ponies squeezed out. The S models will have better brakes and a bit stiffer ride. If I had it all over to do again I would have tried to get an S model.
