Buying first G37. Need advice

Hi,

I am looking to buy my first G37 coupe and would like some advice! Currently I am debating on these few options (coupes): Please let me know which option is best if I want to maybe put a few mods on it and hope it can last for 4 years or so. Only thing I am hesitant to buy the 2010 (option 1) is probably because I like the 2011 bumper more. Which do you guy think I should go with? Option 1 has also a tan interior which I prefer black but I wouldn't mind tanned.

1. $15,000 CAD 2010 G37x with 99,000km. +$600 bumper scratch fix (Tan interior) 2010 Infiniti G for $16,500 in LONDON | autoTRADER.ca
2. $22,000-$25,000 2011-2012 G37x//G37xs with 60,000km-80,000km 2011 Infiniti G XS Coupe DRIVE PERFECTION...AND DRIVE IN STYLE!!! for $23,888 in Stoney Creek | autoTRADER.ca

Option 2 are just average prices (give or take) I see in dealerships. Should I wait to buy from one of the option 2? Or should I go for the option 1 since its a decent price?

I'd opt for option 2 - the sport package is definitely worth the extra bump in price. You get a number of options: sport seats, paddle shifters, bigger brakes, 19' rims, stiffer suspension, etc. All the while, you still have the advantage of awd for the winter season in Canada. At $24k CAD (~$18k USD) with 71km (~44k mi), this a fairly decent deal. Of course, if you wait until the new Q60 comes out, I don't doubt that prices will drop even lower. I'd be patient, there will be many perfect cars on the market soon!

From the 2 that you provided I'd definitely go for option 2 and also about the tan interior trust me if you want black get black. Tan gets dirty easily. Also option 2 has the awd sports package... better wheels better suspension better bumper better car lol

I haven't seen an actual release date yet but I've heard rumors for mid summer. One thing's for sure, the inventory of G37's will pile up in the months to come

hmm seems like option 2 has two votes. What if I can somehow drop the price lower for option 1?

I vote option 2 also. However, my best advice is keep looking until you find exactly what you want. There will always be new cars popping up and your going to keep it along time so waiting for the perfect combination of color and price may be your best bet.

I'm another vote to wait till you find exactly what you want!

Speaking as someone who recently rejoined the G club, it took me a year + to find the one I wanted but it was completely worth the patience. I would def. vote option 2 but perhaps am biased since I just bought a '13 xS coupe. It has the benefit of better suspension, big brakes, better styling etc. It is also new enough to avoid the potential expensive pitfall of timing gasket failure in the earlier model years. These things you could fix/upgrade yourself but would cost you more than to just buy it the way you want it. My advice is figure out exactly what you want in a G and wait till you can find one that meets your expectations. This can also give you the added benefit of watching the market closely so you can negotiate the best price based on what cars are actually selling for. Good luck!

Pretty much everything has been stated above. I just bought mine in February and couldn't be happier. I searched for my few required options; Athens blue, black interior, Sport model under 80k miles.. After a few months of searching I knew exactly what price I was going to pay after seeing all the options around the country and found the exact car I wanted. These aren't rare cars by any means, keep searching and get exactly what you want. If you aren't afraid to travel or have a car shipped then your options are endless. Good luck buddy!
