2012 G37x sedan

Hello everyone, I have had my G for about 2 months now, starting using this page for info about a month after having the car. Here are some pics of her.

So far so good at about 2k miles since I got it (29k total).

I have done Intakes(Injen and Z1 silicone tube) and an Tanabe exhaust, changes all the halogens out for LEDs, tinted 20%, Gloss Black OEM 17", black vinyl grille wrap.

Thanks guys. Wanting to do just a few more things but debating on waiting. I want HFC's and a tune. Also I want to lower it but really only want springs. Just sort of worried about the stock shocks. HFC's and a tune may wait as well while I decide if I want to take the chance on warranty issues.

Love the car. Needed a family car wanted a sports car.

Really looking nice^^^
Any fitment issues w/ the Z1 tubes? I've got the Injen SRI and have been wanting to dress them up but just haven't got around to it.

Funny you ask this but yes, and it is an odd one and is really only a problem with the Injens, and I have not tried the z tubes with the stock boxes but have really been thinking about going to that.

The SRI's have a rubber/ soft plastic connection where the MAF housing is and it is greased up more than anything I have seen. The MAF housing is polished up and it was a PIA to get these to seat together and not pop once pressure was put on the clamp. I had to sand a bit on the MAF housing.

Once I put the time into it geometrically all the parts fit really nice, but I have to check this connection as after my cat install I found that if anyone has to remove chances are they could not put it back right or do it just this stupid way the clamp shoves the MAF housing down into the rubbery piece.

I think the setup looks nice though and it sounds and works great besides this one annoying issue.

So I was just going to update my joining post and now that I look at the pic from december not a whole bunch has changed.

Added some H&R Spacers.

Put a front lip on after I got 400 million rock chips.

Added HFC's and a Y-pipe

Overall this my favorite out of all the cars I have owned, probably because it is undoubtedly the nicest.

I have had some issues though, mainly with the High Flow Cats. While I love the butt dyno with these things the rasp is downright unbearable.

Waiting to see if Motordyne has an option for the X Sedan in regards to the resonated XYZ pipe they offer the coupes. Otherwise I am going to be looking at trying to find a place for some universal resonators, and if that does not work I am going to take them off and say f - it.

Other than those issues the car is awesome and I am sure I will love it even more once I find a fix to that.

I also just wanted to thank anyone that has helped me along the way and I am sure I'll need more of it at some point. Maybe after I figure my own crap out I'll be able to help others.

I know, rasp isn't a great addition
I added resonated test pipes and they sounded great w/ my OEM Y pipe but added a new Y pipe that is 3" collector and my Top Speed Y back is 2.5" @ the y-flange, and this added the rasp, not happy w/ that for sure.
G/L w/ your resonated Y pipe plan.

I had the rasp with the OEM Y-Pipe, That is why I bought the new y-pipe and it did not fix a thing. I watched a video today of a guy that had rasp from the Berk HFC's and got that XYZ Motordyne pipe and it fixed it.

At least according to his video.

This post gives me hope at least.

And this one.

This leads me to believe if I can get a pair of resonators in my y - pipe it might work. It is a shame that there isn't a y - pipe like this for the x-sedan.

If I can't resolve it within the next month though I am just going to take them off and try to sell them I guess. But I am sure that won't be easy considering why I am selling them.

bsettles, how do you like the Injen SRI's? I'm considering getting those if I dont end up trading the car in. How the heck do you manage keeping your mufflers so clean?! You have a really nice set up, car looks great.
