Motordyne XYZ pipe installed.... Thank god
My motordyne XYZ pipe arrived saturday and I had the chance to install it on sunday. All I can say is that Tony from motordyne is my f'ing savior.
My problem all started when I installed my long tube headers. They are so free flowing and designed for a true dual setup, so I had an AWEFUL rasp in my Y-pipe. It was all I could hear my car sounded terrible. To give you an idea, here is a soundclip(keep in mind this is behind the car right by the mufflers with long tube headers, you can hear the rasp over the sound of the exhaust):

Immediately after I installed it, I called F.I. and they could not help me out and called Tony at Motordyne to discuss options. I REALLY did not want to spend another 10 hours reinstalling my stock headers. So he mentioned his resonated XYZ pipe, which I decided to try
Upon arrival, put the pipe together (you can change out the resonator section to an HFC or straight pipe)

Quality is very good, welds are strong, etc.
Got under the car and took the amuse Y-pipe off and fitted this one in and bolted it back up within a half hour. However, the passenger side was hitting my transmission mount/some kind of brace under my car, so I had to take it back off and pound the mount in a little. It was a mount that is hollow on the inside so I didnt damage anything, just pushed it in a little. However, I am sure with a stock car, the system would fit perfect. I have long tube headers and such, which I know changed the fitment of the exhaust. So install was a breeze.
Once I started the car, there is a HUGE difference. The rasp is all but gone. I can only very very slightly hear it at 3.5K-4K under WOT. It sounds like the stock VQ hiss again, not amplified X 5 like it was before. It also quieted my exhaust down quite a bit almost to the sound level of my previous stillen exhaust. My iphone clips don't do it justice. I will get better clips soon enough to post in here. Same car/camera position as before. Also, after I installed my long tube headers, I immediately noticed a deficiency in torque below 5K rpms. You would hit the gas and it was just boring waiting to get to the higher RPMs. That is also now GONE. With this pipe, it feels like it added a ton back to the lower end. My car pulls now from 2.5K all the way up compared to just the long tube headers and y-pipe.
