Play movies on USB with stock nav

Hey, does anyone know how to play movies on USB using the stock nav for the 2010 G37's with High tech pkg?

I don't see it in the manual and i tried *.avi and the file format was not accepted.

Don't think it's possible. No video codec playability. I believe it only plays MP3s.

Really? because it specifically says "movie".

This is a new feature only for 2010 models I think.

That would be cool - haven't tried it on my 2010. I thought you could only play movies via a DVD when stopped and the parking brake is engaged? If you can watch movies from your iPod that would be great.

how would you play a movie via DVD when there is no DVD player?

you can definitely play movies from an iPod or any other source via the RCA cables (I don't know if the 2010's still have RCA cables)

either way you still should be able to play movies through the USB on your iPod

The 2010's have CD/DVD combos. How do you know yours doesn't play DVD's? I also went to infiniti site to download the brochure to looks at the specs and found "DVD and USB Video Playback"

I will look to see if the 09 has a DVd player but I am 99.9% sure it's just the single CD player.

But like i said the 09 can play movies through the RCA cables and through an iPod video, not sure about the 2010's since they have the USB and not RCA cables

How did u play movies from iPod without using the RCA cable. I know I have to engage the brake and the car needs to be in Park but I still can't get it to play video from the iPhone/iPod, just music

I'm fairly certain you have to hook the iPod up to the RCA cables and use the "AUX" setting on the display

I have a 2009 G37 convertible and a 2010 G37x sedan, both Europe versions.
They can play movies from USB.
I tryed different formats.
It accept AVI, Mpeg4, 3GP, etc...
It cant play the MP4 HD (H264) format
It even support subtitles.
It work only if the gear selector is in Parking position.
