Update: Beater to Buy

heavily considered the 3000GT and went to see a couple but after the research and you guys help, the upkeep will not be worth it being an efficient beater so I have gone to something that may not be as beat up as most integras I looked at and that is a 96-99 mitsubishi eclipse GS.

I was looking at this one

I hope to see it tomorrow.

That is actually something I really need to look into getting... a beater... I put way to many miles on my G ... while I love driving it... I also need th beater for when I am starting with mods...

The only thing I can suggest is get something that you will semi enjoy driving... (of course nothing will compare to the G) because if not your going to let your beater sit on those times when you need to be driving it...

I live out in Centreville as well and work in South East DC... the only thing I like is I am at work at 5AM so the drive in and out is not that bad... not much traffic... so I get to open the G up some...

ahh my favorite gen of eclipse back when they werent fat and overweight. Id pay alittle extra and get the factory tubocharged GS-T. youd have a lot of room to play with in terms of what you want to do with it, you can get massive hp on the cheap. I think its worth it.

my other recomendation is a used subaru, regular impressa or wrx. those are reliable and AWD.

Any Civic Si or Integra Type-R will do. How about an 95 300zx? or a 94 Supra.

Supras cost soo much and are usually beaten the Sh*t out of. Integra Type R's are still expensive for what they are.

About the Eclipst GS-T, I wonder how the maintainance would be on that puppy. usually those are ridden pretty hard too and I dont know how maintaining a turbo car would be. any ideas??

I've got a bare bones 94 Honda Civic DX for sale if anyone in the northeast is looking for a beater car! No power steering, no A/C, very basic, but very easy to maintain, not alot to go wrong. Still gets 31+mpg on the highway. Lightly modded, just upgraded shocks and springs, engine is stock and still strong. Handling is very quick and nimble, god I still love this car. But I want the cash to buy a bike for this summer....
