Today i got home from work, parked my car, went upstairs and maybe two hours later i go to my garage to see that my car's lights are flickering very fast but kinda dimmed. So i got in it and try to start it and the car is completely dead. At this point the lights stopped flickering but i dont even get a light on my cluster. WHAT is this. And does anyboby know if i have to re tune my utec. HELP PLEASE!!!

 

I had a problem similar to that with my last car [honda prelude] and it had to do with the ignition-something-or-other. Sorry I can't be more specific. It was several years ago and my memory is foggy on it.

hmm, you may have a bad ground somewhere drainning the battery. what else do you have besides the headunit thats wired in? utec?....etc.?

 

mine did that once, just wait. it'll prob go away

 

Could be battery or alternator getting really weak. I have seen some really weak batteries do some weird **** to the electric systems. Try to jumpstart it and see if it starts up.

 

something similar happened to me. took it to the dealer. turns out it was the aftermarket shock sensor. there was a short in it, and it was affecting my parking lights which was causing my battery to drain.

do u have an aftermarket alarm?

 

check your battery

 

Jump it and see if that starts it. Could be a weak battery caused by an old battery not holding a charge or an alternator going bad.

I had something similar happen to me a couple months ago. It was just really weird electrical stuff happening

My tach and speedo wouldn't work, the VDC off and slip light were on all the time, and my headlights would flicker on and off on their own accord (no matter what setting I had them in: on, fog, auto, off).

Took it to the dealer and it was a bad ground wire. Replaced it and have yet to have any problems again. Knock on wood... :knock: :knock: :knock:

 

I agree, my first guess would be a very low battery causing the system to go nuts.

I have also seen problems like this from water getting in the fuse box by the battery.

 

yea, my prob originated right after running over a large puddle while it was pouring
