Got a freaking ticket in V.A.
Funny because it's my first ticket in a very long time but I was caught last night coming back to Maryland from N.C. The freaking sheriff was sitting in the median on I-85 and when I saw him, I had two choices:
1) I saw him come out and their was an exit, so yes the thought crossed my mind but you have to ask yourself one question. Is it really worth it?
2) Pull over and wait for him to catch you because you know your busted.
-Well, I opted for #2 and he thanked me for doing that and I told him that I didn't want him wasting his gas trying to run me down...lol. He was laughing his *** off but still gave my *** a ticket for 79 in a 65 but he said it wasn't reckless and I could pay the fine or come to court. I'm thinking of getting a lawyer so the insurance man won't try to get more dough out of me. What do you guys think?

I just got off in MD because the cop didn't show.I had my case postponed cause i actually missed the first date. Try that ,do you have a radar detector? Also do you have factory wheels or aftermarket?
man, you're straight. 79 in a 65? that's not bad at all.
I'd say just pay it...but if u have an near excellent driving record, and want to spend the loot on a lawyer, then it might be worth fighting b/c they will look at your record and will cut u a break if you've been "good".
Depending on if your lawyer knows what he's doing, he'll time your court case just right so he can get you the best/most leniant on speeding judge and prosecutor lined up for your day.

I'm probably wanted in 2 other states. I have tab running with DC too. I never paid that sh|t...and my insurance nor my driving record were affected by them. I could be speaking too soon...when I go back to FL again this spring, i hope to God my past doesn't catch up to me.

Oh, and for those of you from Maryland or DC passing through KG county who get a ticket, don't even bother to go to court. I went and the court room overflowed into the hallways and even outside into the parking lot. They had to keep going out into the hallway to find people when their case was called. I watched at least 80 cases before mine was called. Every single one was convicted and given the maximum fine.
Don't bother going to court. VA's a communist state when it comes to enforcing speed limits. However, feel free to tailgate, not use your turn signal, cut people off, slam on your brakes when you see a cop on the interstate, or run people off the road to keep them from merging into your lane. None of the laws pertaining to those events are enforced in VA.
Okay, I think I will eat the ticket being that the officer said that there was no reckless driving and that there will be no points involved. I was wondering about my insurance going up, but I don't think that will happen due to what you guys are saying. I "learned my lesson" , so I will pay the fine and get a V-1 for future speeding infractions...

I would exercise due diligence here as the points on your license could amount to several thousand dollars as you wait for it to clear from your record. I would look into deferred adjudication if your record is clear and the jurisdiction allows it.

Maybe someday I'll make a map with likeliness of getting a ticket color coded. I bet you could sell that pretty well at gas stations...
