It's going to be dope, but I however am going to wait and am willing to wait until the 2nd or 3rd batch comes out. Personally, I've noticed how many bugs get fixed post 1st production batch.

And, I'm going to be getting mine at Costco. In the case that something odd happens, it'll be easier to take it to Costco, and get a brand new one. As opposed to if something happens to my PS3 and I had purchased it somewhere else (assuming that it's longer than the 30 day return time), I would have to send it in to Sony themselves, HAVE to pay for the shipping, WAIT for them to come up with a diagnosis, THEN wait for them to ship it back to me, not knowing all in all how long exactly this will take. Costco provides returns ANY time because they themselves can not provide the factory warranties, and because of that, they provide returns on purchased items, anytime in your lifetime. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO there you go.

Yea, I've been thinking about this since February or March already lol.

Well put Im number 42 in my preorder so I likely wont get one until 2nd batch anyways. Cant wait!!

+1

the price of the ps3 is out of range for most ppl now a days...i mean you can save that money towards gas ....well...def our gas prices $50+ for some

but yea i know the diff in the prices...for ps3 your getting alot more than a game system..your getting the future of technology(which hopefully wont fail ) Blue ray is going to whip up on the HD-DVD war just mainly because they have alot of big name movie companies backing them. They will indeed have a bigger libary and def win over the majority of the average consumers.

Ps3 already started their advertising campaign...

I'm sure it will get more heavier as it gets closer to launch date....The only ppl that know the diff between the consoles when the war starts are the gaiming junkies(such as ourselves) that read game mags and know the technical details between the systems. Those are the ones that are going to be camping out infront of Toy''s R Us at 3 in the morn.

For the release date fo the PS3 23-27 titles have been confirmed for launch day with the system. Its going to be sick to play some of these games live.

that is true...but you gotta remeber the betamax- VHS war...VHS won and marjority of the movies tranplanted over to VHS....I think the same will happen with Blue-Ray if they win or vice versa HD. Im leaning towards Blue-Ray cause of the libary that they will have.(hopefully)

This whole DVD war is stupid...you got 2 wars happening at the same time confusing consumers...you got the Console war which will be a price fight, game title fight, and the amount of systems availble. Then you have the dvd format war tied into the whole. Consumers are going to have to decicde if they want blue ray then go with the PS3 or HD then go with Xbox...Consumers like to make simple choices when spending money, not having to go through 15 layers of picking sides ..but of course we all know that the advertising campaign that is the best will win over the majority of the consumers .

I don't know about toys R Us, I just might go to best buy, & fight with the Yite people to get in front of the line

I wonder if SONY will have an event like Microsoft did last year when they held it in a hanger out in the desert...SONY should have a BIG AZZ PS3 party and televise it...I'll be there like "I GOT MY PS3 BIATCHEZ"

That is tru, but personally I was at best buy the other day and I really didn't see much of a BIG differance between the Blu-Ray players & HD-DVD players, compared to my Sony dvd player with the S-Video cable...that S-Video cable makes the picture SO much clearer.

If you think S-Video is something, try components mang They definitely put a pretty picture up.

Terry, I went to FYE to preorder there. All they asked was $50 down. Im really surprised the larger carriers arent taking preorders.

You are not going to see any difference using S-video, it's only 4-500 lines interlased.

Used component cable with progressive scan , you can get ~400p, which is better than S video if your TV is EDTV. Regular TV can't read progressive scan. You still won't see the diofference here.

Then, you need component cable or HDMI cable with HDTV to show HD-DVD, 720p. You still won't see adifference here, as most HDTV goes to 720p tops.

Blu-Ray is 1020p, you need HDMI, >42 HDTV that could display 1020p,
to see the difference. Most HDTV now goes to 720p max, you stilll won't see a difference as the TV is maxed out,

damn FYE, FOR SOME REASON, I JUST DON'T LIKE THAT STORE.
THEY ARE JUST 2 DAMN HIGH PRICED FOR ME...A DAMN CD IS LIKE 18 19 DOLLARS, BUT IF THEY ARE PREORDERING I'LL GIVE IT A SHOT

SO PRETTY MUCH TO GET ME TO REALLY SEE A DIFFERANCE TO SHELL MY MONEY OUT IS TO SEE THE BLU-RAY PLAYERS IN ACTION ON A PLASMA/LCD T.V. THAT'S PUTTING OUT 1020 TO 1080P????
