Angry 05 Coupes not compatible w/ Front Hawk Pads

Yes, you are reading correct. I ordered some Hawk Pads (front and rear) and found out that the rear pads fit, but the fronts dont fit. After hours of calling and running around to find the correct answer. Infiniti told me that when the 05's came out, there was a period when they were trying out a new brake pad, but it was only around the December 04 - March/April 05 Timeframe.

So you have brake pads for brembo, non brembo and this third brake pad. This brake pad is not a big as the brembo, but not smaller than the non-brembo. Cars during this period were shipped w/ this new brake pad and Hawk will not make a brake pad for it, since it was in so limited production, so we can only replace our front pads w/ OEM pads.

So I suggest you check out your front pads and see if you have this third brake pad. I am sure that John has the same thing since we ordered ours at the same time and maybe a few others in the club as well.

Well, after looking at the wheels for longer than 30 minutes, the likely just refused to put them on and gave you that excuse.

Crazy to hear that. Im gonna try to go with oem depending on if there is a big price diff with anything else..

I believe i read some where that the 05/06 6MT brakes are the same as the ones used on the M35's.
Same product code and that Hawk pads are still in development for the 05/06 and that info on their site is erroneous at best.

^I put Hawks pads on my car as well but only on the rear. My front pads are not compatible. He probably doesnt have the third brake pad that I have and his car was not used/made during the end of 04 and the beginning of 05. So he probably has the non-brembo pads which fit just fine, but my non-brembo pads will only fit the rear.

After tons of research for my car and they are Hawk product code HB387. The same as the old Q45 and M45, M35. I installed them and they are fine.

Hawks

I'll second that, have the same problem. Bought a set of HB268F.665 that Hawk claims works for 05 6MT coupe but they are too small. Thanks for the post. Anyone else tried the HB387's with success? I get a little nervous when you retrofit anything that isn't recommended especially brakes and especially when you're taking the car to the track!

BTW if anyone wants a set of HB268F.665's let me know I'd be happy to sell them.
