Dynod my car and almost got a Uprev tune

So Today I went to church automotive to get my car tuned with uprev. I will upload Dyno sheet later.

We ran the baseline and I got 327 and 332 WHP and about . This was all done 3rd gear. They then began to tune the car and spent about 2 hours on the car and the car was making 0 gains.

My car has grounding wiresm, Injen CAI, BERK HFC, and Invidia Gemini exhaust.

Sean the head tuner told me that my car was the second g37 these last two weeks to make 0 gains and that Uprev just updated their software two weeks ago and he believes they messed something up.

So we ran one more baseline dyno after my car went to stock and I got 337 WHP and 275ish tq 275 tq

So I am waiting for uprev to review my data and fix the problem.

That's amazing, I'm under the belief you can just get a tune with a stock G and get at least 10HP gain. Unless there's a bug that's preventing actual ECU updates. Curious what's your AFR read WOT?

im not so fimilair with AFR and WOT.. if u can explain i can aybe give you an answer

yes im very intrested in knowing if theres a better program as long as its getting at least 20hp + because for $500 its gotta be legit

sean the owner he has the new G37s and while we were talking i believe he said stock he was getting 290 to the wheels and then after the uprev tune he got 322. that shows how different each car is

AFR = air to fuel ratio

WOT = wide open throttle

What type of dyno was it? 322rwhp (rear wheel horsepower) seems really high!

Would it show on the dyno paper? I don't know where to get that from :/
The dyno I believe was from a dynopack they took off my tires and hooked it up to the axle

Doesn't the dynopack give more accurate results compared to a regular dyno where u put it on the wheels?

dynapacks read higher due to the fact that they are hub mounted. you don't take into acct the power loss by the rotational mass of the spinning wheel.

^ Exactly... Those numbers are pretty inflated. I was pushing 298 in 3rd gear on a dynojet dyno running sri, hfc, & cbe after the uprev tune. I gained a lot of midrange power dude to the tune more usuable in daily driving. I saw an 18whp increase at one area of my midrange rpm due to the tune.

I agree uprev still has some bugs to work out but I'm very satisfied with the results and feel of the car after tuning. Night and day difference well worth the money IMO.

From what I understand Ive seen a few members here use dynopack and get some really low numbers compared to mine. Dynojet is 8% lower reading than dynopack right?

different dynos read completely differently just because of the algorithms involved. they each use something slightly different.

what a dyno is best used for is finding a delta (ie what was it before the tune and what was it after) comparing two different types of dynos is not a good way to compare HP. And OP, I can guarantee you that your G was NOT making 337 RWHP stock.

There are some really good articles about how dynos actually work and what the differences are between the different kinds of dynos on a different forum, if you want the link just PM me.

Why the heck would they use 3rd gear for the Dyno? 5th Gear (unless this is different on Autos and/or Sedans) is the gear the car should be Dyno'd at since it is the gear with a 1:1 ratio.

I also highly doubt that Uprev was the cause of the problem since the same variables and settings can be updated/controlled by any of the tuning apps / software out there. The increases and gains all depend on what the tuner changes on the car not the way he is making those changes. The only reason he might not have seen any changes is if he wasn't correctly updating the car with the changes he was making. If that was the case it should have been very obvious when he made the dyno run that the settings weren't being made.

The only other thing I could think of is that he did update the map but the tuned map wasn't selected on the car (via the cruise control buttons) and was always running the base map.
