Unhappy End of an era....

Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure... than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much, because they live in a gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat.
Theodore Roosevelt
It got worse. An hour after my post above, the engine seized. BIG noises below.

I ran this thing WAY over redline more than once, and it didn't like this. Sigh.

I ran four passes all in the elevens, none of the MPH were above 120. Boost peaked no more than 15.6lbs (peak hold on a zero guage), even though I tried raising it. It was doing the boost or fuel cut thing every pass. Dropping power, then coming back on. Still I can't figure this out.

4.08 Gears, although a blast on the road, did not show me the improvement I hoped. Best 60' time: 1.79".

Got home at 3am after an ex$pensive tow back home. NOT a good outing.

But, this is what I chose to do. These things happen. Jimmy fired it up at The Shop at 7am to see, and he said: "It's toast."

Next phase: OEM engine and trans from good salvage wreck. Convert the car back to OEM stock, and sell a gaggle of quality hi-perf components separately.

Clint Eastwood: "A man's got to know his limitations."

I tried, but the 11.13 passes, which were real and have set the standard to beat, yet I'm passing on any further attempts.

More news as I go on. Thanks for your support!

Coop I almost teared reading your post! I'm very sorry to hear man. I know the feeling and it plain sucks. Are you going to try and open the engine see what happened? It could be just toasted bearings that need to be replaced. Best of luck either ways man.
