Probably going to spring for $150 Megan / manzo y pipe... Ughhh frustrated.
Did you ever end up getting an aftermarket y pipe? I've always had a similar hunch to you as to the tiny piping on the y pipe being a big cause of the rasp when adding either HFC's or test pipes. I run resonated test pipes only and do have quite a bit of rasp with the stock y pipe.

Keep in mind the car still has stock y pipe which I will be replacing but they tried all the y pipes they had at the shop and none of them would clear the transfer case. As far as sound believe it or not it got better. If I could do it all over again I would of got the stillen gen 3 intakes and a y pipe that fits awd before I went and got it tuned. I have before and after videos if someone could kindly let me know how to post them. Also z1 has dyno videos and pictures that they are emailing me today. Very pleased overall. I gained power in every rpm. Rev limiter at 7900 and that is one of the best things really really helps top end just that little bit.
What did Z1 end up tuning your car with? ECUtek? I'm assuming they found some way to disable the AWD? Pretty damn good numbers.

I saw that a user on here was successfully able to use an ebay 3" y pipe with his OEM midpipe. I'm debating on going that route here soon.

Any feedback guys? Looking to purchase the correct Y-pipe, given I will likely be going with either a Megan or TopSpeed exhaust for my G37x.

Which Y-pipe fits G37x?
