Stillen Gen 3 vs. A/C lines

My dealership told me that my CAI has rubbed a small hole in my A/C coolant lines, thus draining all the fluid. I get the car back tomorrow morning and they sold me the line for me to put on instead of paying the $450 or some odd amount for them to do it.

Anywho, does anybody have any experience with this?
And has anyone swapped coolant lines that can give me some pointers?
What kind of coolant should I add to the system when finished?

That would be freon not coolant, and you should not mess with it.

Who installed the Stillen?? There IS a warning to insulate the "refrigerant" lines on the instruction sheet.

You really need a qualified A/C tech. As others mentioned - it isn't coolant that leaked.

Actually - IMO $450 isn't bad.

Good Luck...

$450 might not be bad for the dealer to do it but you can get it done for less than half that at any good a/c shop. All that needs to be done is vacuum pulled, make sure it holds vacuum then recharge with the correct amount of 134. If it was a slow leak you probably didn't loose enough oil to worry about. If it blew hard it's possible you might need to add a ounce or two of oil before the vacuum is pulled.
If you've never done it before don't try...... no need to have the dealer do it a good ac shop can actually be better at it since it's all they do.

This was mine with my stillen. I was told to pay $117 for the part from infiniti. I called my nissan dealer and got the ac line for $23 for a 370z and it it myself. Advance sells ac line wrench kits you just have to get it filled then by a reputable place

This is exactly the line that they sold me to replace. I'm going to get out there today to see what I can figure out. Hopefully it's an easy swap and won't take too much time, but we'll see. I'll take some pictures of the job too and post them up here.

So glad I did it correctly lol I just noticed through the grill that we did use the zip ties and rubber to protect it. I almost had a heart attack!

Update.

I just took apart my car, took as much of the intake off as possible without taking off the front bumper and found this. I originally had a piece of rubber ziptied to the area, but the zipties must have broken off because the rubber is still there hanging loosely around the ac line. Looks like a long days work and it's about to rain...silver lining is that it looks like I only have to replace the larger of the two lines.

I had a friend have the same problem with his 350z because his intake rubbed a hole in it. Its really not that difficult to replace just takes some time.
