I had mine professionally installed...no noises...not aware of any fitment issues...I did however set somebody's car alarm off when I parked beside them and revved the engine tho...lol

 

Yea, I know two other people that have this and it was installed professionally, no problems at all. It's seems a lot of people installing themselves are having trouble.

 

^^^ Had mine professionally installed and had the subframe clearance issue right away. There's not much you can mess up on the y-pipe install cause the holes match dead on with the pipe coming out of stock cats .. Mine was literally resting against the subframe forget about any clearance... They had to make a small dent in the subframe to have just a tad bit clearance in there (pics in earlier post).
Since then, I hve got the dent looked at by atleast 4 different shops including Midas and dedicated exhaust shops and all have said that this much of a bend would not jeopardize the integrity of this subframe at all. Every shop said that they do this, and much more than this to fit aftermarket exhausts on many cars. So I guess am gonna live with it for now. Am I happy, heck no, would have loved not to make that dent period but I have been crazy for this exhaust from my G35 days.
NeverBoneStock has tried out the clearance with the spacers sent out by Tony but to no avail. I have received mine too but won't bother testing them out as Tony is already working on revising this design and hope he will replace the ones with issues.
I guess the performance, sound and every other aspect of this exhaust will outweigh the fitment issues with some and that too with flying colors... I have forgot about all that and appreciating the sound and smiles/compliments I get everytime I stop at a signal. Love this exhaust .... There's absolutely no drone even after 1000 kms.
You might have to adjust or place something in the exhaust hanger to fit the 5" tip without rubbing ... I had to do mine so that it doesn't rub. Although a 5" tip won't even get clost to the temp of a smaller tip. Cause of the bigger opening, it tends to remain cooler so don't hve to worry about melting the bumper too much. However, I won't go for anything else but CF for the diffuser to avoid issues if any.

 

Midas?????? They will ruin the exhaust. They probably would put it in backwards.

 

Around here many Midas shops are independently owned franchises. Basically an independent exhaust shop operating with the Midas name. Some of them are owned/run by skilled experienced exhaust guys.

 

P Casey ... I haven't heard of any bad experiences with Midas here in Toronto. Never personally tried them but i would at least expect them to have basic knowledge about exhaust installation for that big of a franchise.

I agree with BB completely. A local shop in the area i used to live in was very famous for mechanical repairs but about a year ago i saw a Midas board on it but the same owner.

 

Gotcha I'll take your word for it. Just have had bad experiences there wherever I lived growing up. Same goes with places like discount tire, tires plus, etc. you would think they would have general knowledge but they don't. Their typical customer is not installing an aftermarket exhaust on a 2008-2012 Infiniti G37, mainly they deal with older cars that are having mechanical problems. Not saying that is every Midas but its typically who they cater to. If I am going to get a brand new 1500 exhaust installed I am going to bring it somewhere that has had a lot of experience with my model car and aftermarket parts. A place that specializes in that area so they know what to look for and that nothing is overlooked. That's just me though.

 

^^ umm it really depends man ... some are good and some not .. its iffy especially if you haven't tried the place before but definitely not all of them are bad.
Anyways in this context i only and only went there to get a second opinion on the dent and thats about it. I would "prefer" to have my mods installed at a shop known to work on our cars, which i did

 

I did the install at a buddies, everything lined up best as possible so there's no excuse for the rattling against subframe other than by design. Does anyone with an 08' have this issue or a 09+ doesn't have the problem? Mines 09' and thus far it seems like everyone with 09+ comes across this rattling issue.

Brought it up to tony and so I will be getting the spacer as well so I hope the correction will be made.

 

^^^Looks pretty aggressive when you peak under the rear bumper...my female friend likened it to looking at a girls @ss...lol.

Anybody that loved the sound originally from the video clips think it's too loud after getting it installed?

I love the sound...but from a cold start...the **** is LOUD!!! Lol. But I still love it.

I almost purchased the motordyne manifold but i didnt read any significant gains from it. some experience loss (not noticeable) at high end of the hp spectrum but some gain of torque. so is it worth it? to me, no. i'd rather save the money and get some headers...which is what i plan to do. then get a tune.

and this is why (323WHP and 262 Torque on a Dyno Jet)...I hope to get a bit higher numbers with the e370 exhaust.

 

Yup, noobs usually go with the Fast intentions especially with the carbon fiber cans.


Just kidding. Fast intentions is a good exhaust. Wouldn't get one though.

 

I'm going to say again, that people need to understand what a dyno is and does before they go chasing specific numbers with parts.

You cannot look at figures without knowing the before/after etc. Dynos are only good for showing delta figures, nothing else, if you go chasing certain HP/TQ numbers, rather than gains over the 'before' numbers, you're going to be disappointed.


Also, good luck using peak HP gains in the last 500 RPM, i'll take my gains under the curve any day
