Hey Red... Have you swapped out your filters yet? I'm at about 12K miles so far through my R2C cones and so far just been hitting it with air from the compressor.

 

Shouldn't need to swap them out, just blow out every 6 months and wash once a year. That's probably excessive but then why not.. it's not a PITA for us I just happen to be due for a wash, probably will in a few hours here.

What have you been using to wash, soap and water? I've just been hitting them with air so far.

 

Car wash. Leaf blower works great for blowing them out and after wash to get a majority of the water out so they dry faster. They can take some time to dry.. used a hair dryer to speed that up a bit.

You only really need to wash them if there's some stuff not coming out with the blower or they look really dirty.

 

So I got my intakes today and Had a question. Do I really need to disconnect the battery to install these? I don't want to go through the window reset thing that I have heard people talk about.

 

meh, its not necessary, its probably more to protect the MAF from any change of an electric shock.

 

Kinda off topic but i realized that the couple times i have disconnected my battery, i have not only had to reset the windows, but reset the convertible top too... not that it is a HUGE pain (an extra 40 seconds lol) but it just had me thinking... do the coupes w/ a sunroof have to reset that too?
