ok - installed ichiba y-pipe with my tanabe medalion axle-back exhaust.

y-pipe is stainless steel and looks great. fits like a glove! and is much larger (as noted in this thread) than the stock y-pipe.

my thoughts....

sound is deeper and a tad louder. definitely noticeable! The Tanabe has a great exhaust note by itself - the y-pipe just made it louder. not obnoxious but a nice deep rumble!

can't say I noticed an increase in power - although on the freeway cruising at 75 it seems to have more zip when I need to pass, etc. Will see once things settle in.

now just need the mid-pipe! and yes probably could have just bought a full cat-back but it's more fun doing it in pieces!

not my car, but here's a video on youtube

Has anyone bolted up the Ichiba Y pipe to HFC and the stock exhaust? If so, will the Ichiba pipe eliminate the HFC/stock exhaust rattle under WOT?

It will not eliminate the muffler rattle nor the HFC hiss.
