I am planning on mating this up to the stock exhaust.

Is that the one with the 3 inch outlet? If so, you're mating it back up to a 2 1/2 inch stock pipe correct? That's not a good combination. From front to back on an exhaust system you can always go from a smaller pipe to a bigger pipe. You should never go from a bigger pipe down to a smaller pipe. If I remember right, this y-pipe is a dual 2.5" to a single 3" and it will be connecting to a 2.5" again.
It's a good looking pipe but it brings issues with it if you're connecting it back to the stock exhaust.

 

Finally someone is gonna do a review on this. Ive been wanting to get it to pair up with the Tanabes but havent heard anything first hand on it.

 

Well, then it'll be a good seat of the pants experiment. I'll let you know my results when it's all complete.

 

Y-pipe came in today. Haven't had a chance to take it out of the bubble wrap quite yet. Hopefully I'll be able to install it in the next few days.

 

Alright took some pics of the y-pipe before the install. Y-pipe looks good. Great value for the price.

 

welds are clean as ****! def a nice investment..now just hope it doesnt rust over the next couple of months.

i wonder if the right side of the inside pipe would mess up your airflow a bit since it doesnt match up.?

 

I was thinking the same thing.. but eh we'll see.

 

Let me know if you notice any changes to the sound. I'm deciding if I want to pair this up with my Tanabe Medalion.

 

you will hear a change in sound, and you will also gain low end power. especially with a tanabe..

 

i just ordered an ichiba as well - will be installing this weekend to go with my Tanabe!

 

Does the Tanabe have a 3" inlet?

 

nope - 2.5 I think. and yes, realize going from 3 to 2.5 isn't the most optimal.
