From RASP to slight RASP

Okay heres the deal, I had done my exhaust custom at a shop and it didn't sound any better than a crx. I just finished putting on the medallion touring axle back and it eliminated alot of the rasp but still very slight rasp while accelerating from 2k-3k. ATM I have custom testpipes a custom y-pipe and the medallion. What should I swith up here? Would adding some HFC and the stock y-pipe eliminate rasp?

i would try and add the hfc first....no cats usually make 90% of the rasp...def do the cats then do the y pipe if theres a problem or add a resonator

Comparing test pipes and HFCs, yeah HFCs have less rasp, but OEM to HFCs, HFCs have more rasp.. thats the point I was trying to get at lol... get HFC dude, much better than your test pipes, thats straight up RASP

i guess it depends if you want to sacrifice performance...putting the stock pipe will most likely make it less raspy but loose a little power.

Might be best to just get some resonators put in...that should help quite a bit.

your going the wrong way from the start, custom exhaust most the time= fail if not from a aserious shop.. then test pipes? seems like you wanted rasp? then didnt?

well if not your tanabe is a step up, and the i would get a y pipe if then HFC which would add minamal rasp but worth it

Well this depends whether you care more about sound or performance. Sound wise, I think nothing beats the Tanabes by themselves. If you want more performance, then add the Y pipe next. As you work your way toward the front of the car, it should get a little bit raspier.

"dont try to come up on my ear talkin all that raspy ****..."

I really care most about sound because my G feels like a cow compared to my old rsx type-s. Would HFC produce less rasp than the T-pipes I have on now and the medallion?

ive been trying i figure out which i should get hfc or testpipes and from what i've read from many different forums testpipes cause a louder more raspy sound than hfcs so with that said switching out your testpipes for hfc should reduce the rasp and hopefully produce the sound you are looking for

if that fails keep the medallion and y-pipe and put your stock cats back on but if that is still to raspy for you then just run the tanabe medallion alone

and if that is still not the sound your looking for i hear alot of good things about fast intention which should cost a little more than the tanabe exhaust and y-pipe

hfc's dont ADD rasp, they just make the tone deeper and louder. definitely switch out from your test pipes.
