Well today i finally called in on the exhaust problem. According to the dealer i should come in next Tuesday. Im just questioning whether the new muffler has been the solution to the problem or has it just been a temporary problem solver?

I had a new muffler put on about 3 months ago and it started rattling again the next day. Im too lazy to take it back in so far.

I just noticed that my muffler has the same rattle. Is it a problem known by the dealers or are they giving anyone a hard time about replacement? I'm going down to Clearwater tomorrow and will probably take it in to Lokey and have it checked out. Noise is definatly coming from the muffler.

Well, I went to Lokey today and they replace the muffler, no questions asked. Real fast service. There a pleasure to deal with.

Has this issue been resolved in the 2009 models? Anyone one with an 09 experience this problem as well?

My car just started doing this 2 weeks ago @ 18,7000 miles.

I have my appointment at the dealer on 2/19/09. Hoping they will get it fixed.

well folks... sad to report that my rattle is back for the 4th time now. This is with the new part number muffler they put on last year.

Sounds so embarassing to accelerate. Goin to dealer, and we'll see what happens.
As the OP of this thread, it's very sad that im back here posting again after a year. =(

If this isnt the time to go aftermarket, idk what is!

Wow really?? That sucks! I haven't had to get mine replaced yet... but I haven't driven with my windows down much lately Hopefully I don't here it this spring... that would be depressing.

It's ok though, I've had more than enough other issues to deal with with this car...

^^ that sux bro. we shd call consumer affairs report the problems. im considering doing that now.

Dealer told me, if it rattles again after this they might just refuse to fix it. WTSF!???
Was asked, "Are you sure you're not just hitting the muffler and breaking it on purpose?"

>_<

I told em not to fix it yet. Gonna see about aftermarket, and come back and have em put that in instead and gimmie a new good muffler to keep in case i sell the car down the road.

I would continue to pursue this under warranty. I had mine replaced once - several thousand miles ago and it has never returned.

Glad I stumbled upon this post. At first I had thought it was something in my door. It was driving me crazy as I was trying to find it while driving. Then one day I happened to step out of the car one day while it was running, and realized it was exhaust related. Unfortunately my dealer is 80 miles away so it's a pain to take it in. I guess I don't have an option now.
