Just bought the G37S INSTEAD of the 335i
Congrats man......but I have to disagree about the sound system. I have had two TL's with the ELS and an RSX type-s with the bose system, and the first thing I thought when I got my first TL was "they made a horrible decision getting rid of the bose system. No other stock sound system that I have had has been able to be that crystal clear and still thump when I am going 100mph with the windows down. No offense get a second opinion from a friend.
Also make sure you have the bose system....
Also make sure you have the bose system....
Actually, when I first posted this review, I had only listened to XM, and found it sort of muffled-sounding. I thought this was secondary to the Bose system; however, since listening to my ipod (256kb/s mp3's) and CD's I've been much happier with the sound. Must have something to do with how the XM signals are broadcast....(I'm too lazy to look it up).
I've sort of highjacked my own thread here, but, I just googled it. It seems that XM's bitrate is 32-48kbps! No wonder it sounds like $H!T....
I have Sirius with my 335. Here is a letter I found after someone emailed Sirius complaining about the sound. I guess we're all in the same boat. What do they mean, "We are trying to accommodate listeners of all types."

Thanks for your recent email. We appreciate the time you have taken to
contact SIRIUS in regards to our bitrate. Currently at this time our
system is using a 34 Kbs bitrate. We understand any inconvenience this
may cause. We are trying to accommodate listeners of all types. We
hope this information helps.

I'm the same boat right now, and having read this thread, I agree with a lot of the comments.
I'm looking at an '08 IP/graphite 6mt G37 with premium and nav, and an '08 335i coupe with premium, sport and nav packages. Since the bimmer is is demo (has 11,000 miles on it), the prices are pretty much the same in terms of monthly payment, although the BMW would be a purchase, and the Infiniti would be a lease. The bimmer stickered at $54k and they're selling it at $45k. With 09% financing over 59 months that would translate to $1,000 down and $580/month with a $15,000 balloon payment. Purchase vs. lease doesn't really matter because I never keep cars for much longer than three years. Price difference is pretty negligable, although the Infiniti would probably be about $50/month cheaper. BMW has maintenance included though.
Overall, I'm stuck. I was dead set on getting the G37, but the BMW is just a beast. It actually scared me a little it felt so fast. On the other hand, the interior on the bimmer just sucks, and I love the Infiniti's interior and all the tech gadgets.
