Is replacing the clutch master cylinder a must when doing the slave?

Over summer I did a manual swap on my 08 G37 and had a brand new clutch master cylinder and OEM Slave Cylinder. Recently just 7 months later my slave cylinder blew and is leaking in the bell housing of the transmission. I already bought a JWT heavy-duty CSC and am going to be dropping the trans and making the replacement soon. I am aware most people say to replace both at the same time, so my question is since the master cylinder is still fairly new, 7 months old and only about 5,000 miles on it, do I really need to replace it. I kind of want to save money on not doing it but if it is truly necessary I guess I will have to. Thanks for any help.

Not necessarily but is recommended, your choice though. The OEM csc have had issues of stress cracks that caused failure. I went with the cmak kit the second time my slave cylinder went. Good improvement in my opinion.

People say you should, but the reality is, most people don't. I've never replaced one because of the other failing. Never had an issue because of it. I've replaced probably 3 or 4 slaves and only one master (because of failure) over the years.

Most people don't and the dealer doesn't either.

I'd recommend going with the CMAK kit. Trans will no longer need to be removed if it ever were to fail again.
