Gas gauge is inconsistent

Hey guys, not sure if anyone else is getting this on their G37, but this seems to be happening with my car all the time. I will drive somewhere, and as I'm travelling, the gauge will actually display that the tank is getting fuller (on short trips, it will go up like 1/8th of a tank). When I start the car after letting it sit, it will drop significantly, probably to the level which it actually is, and then the cycle will begin again. Anyone else has the same issue, this just doesn't seem normal to me.

i had something like this happen on my g35. it is the pickup, that measures electrical resistance, for the gas float got dirty. i had to take out my fuel pump and clean the pickups. it would work for a while, until it got dirty again. not sure if the 37 got a revised fuel pump. If is bugs you enough, take the fuel pump out and clean it out. otherwise just set your trip meter every time you get gas and at 200 miles just get more gas.

Alright, I'll take the car to the dealer, since I have the extended warranty, they can deal with it. Thanks.
