Horn Sound Issue

I own a 2009 G37x and I just had some work done on the car including installing a new engine mount. I got the car back and the horn for some reason seems dumbed down especially when I lock the car. Doesn't seem to have the same sounding kick it's always had. Any thoughts on what could have happened?

Were the horns disconnected and, if so, did they reconnect both of them?

Could be a bad ground, bad relays, cut wire etc. I'd at least check above first then go from there. Strong chance they were disconnected to make way for the work you had done.

With not knowing much right now what's the easiest way to go about checking without taking things apart?

Open the hood and start digging for the two horns. Make sure both are plugged in. This is from the Coupe but should be the same/ similar for the sedan:

Ok I'll give it a try. It's just odd because I'm getting different kind of alerts as well on the dash that I've never seen before. The temperature logo seems different and what looks like a horn setting has popped up if I'm reading it right

Well now you are talking about an entirely different set of symptoms. Elaborate on what the car is telling you/ post pics of idiot lights, messages, etc.

Ok, that is the "Time to Rest" alert. This can be set by drivers who are on long road trips to remind them that it is time to take break. I do not think 99% of owners even know it is there and probably 99.9% never used it.

How this got set in the first place is a mystery. Seems maybe someone has been "monkeying" with the cluster/ settings.

This should have zero effect on your horn issue.

My horn has seem to come back to full strength as of last night after driving the car around over the last couple days since getting it back from the shop. I will have them take a look just to double check but I do know that the battery is a little weak from the car previously sitting for a while before having it fixed. Could the battery have anything to do with it?

Also I took csre of the alerts i think they were messing aroumd with the computers after an oil change

Possible, but doubtful. The horn still should have sounded fully with the engine running. Engine off, if the battery was weak to the point it could not fully sound the horn then it never would have cranked the engine. But, who knows for sure... your horn works now and that is all that matters at this point.

Thanks for the update.

Ya I just wonder if it has to do with a connection or some sort still
