OEM Infiniti Enkei 18x7.5 SQ Wheels Clear Akenono BBK

Just wanted to make this post to help others looking to do the Akebono BBK.

I had a lot of trouble figuring out what OEM wheels would clear the factory BBK. People said you need 19's, a certain width, etc. My G came with 17x7.5 wheels in a square setup and I did not want to run a wider wheel or have some ridiculous offset and run into steering rack issues with clearance etc. I also did not want to run aftermarket wheels that would need spacers or hub rings, too much of a headache.

The OEM Infiniti Enkei 18x7.5 square wheels clear the BBK without any spacers and work well. This way you can run the appropriate tire size coming from 225/55 R17 to now 225/50 R18 with out messing with the speedometer too much.

Props to: @2012G37 for helping me confirm the BBK clears the Enkei's and helping me out a lot!

The OEM part number for these Enkei Square wheels is: D0C00-1NH4A

For the spare wheel, I am using the Enkei 18X4 spare donut which clears the front and rear BBK and fits into the spare tire section in the trunk without any issue.

Here are pictures of my setup, the front clearance as the rears easily clear. Still plenty of room.

Hope this helps someone out there!

^^G37S sedan came stock with 18 x 7.5" (225/50/18) in the front which clears the stock 4 piston akebono brakes (bbk). Rear on said car was 18 x 8.5", 245/45/18 stock tire.

So it sounds like those are the wheels you're after.

FWIW, for winter wheels, I ran 18x8 with a 225/50/18 tire, square.

Thank you, I am running 18x7.5 Square with the BBK. AWD models do not come with staggered wheels. Made this post to show it clears.

Glad it worked out well for you. I know the OEM dust shields which comes with the AWD won't fit or fit properly with the new set up. Did you install the ones which comes from the Sport RWD?

Great question. Yes I did install the front OEM sport dust shields that come from the RWD models. I did this because I had scrapping issues and did not want to play musical chairs with having them trimmed. I would not even call them dust shields as so much is cut away from them. I had the rears trimmed and they clear but I somewhat wanted to put the sport rear dust shields on as that would be the proper way to do it.

The fronts you need to take the wheel hub off and use new axle nuts. Not really a big deal, the rears you would have to disassemble the parking brake which should not be bad but that is a whole lot of trouble to go through to replace a flimsy dust shield. Not to mention new axle hardware for the rear as well as well as taking the rear wheel hub bearings off.
