looked at couple g37 sedans and notice that the fuel doors are misaligned. I looked at clean title, never in accident, private as well as dealership and noticed such. Is this normal? Thanks in advance.

I was noticing that slightly when shopping around. My G37x has a slightly whackly aligned fuel door as well FWIW. Perhaps it's just not a great design and it misaligns over time

 

Just had to look at mine. It's perfect. My Subarus fuel door seems misaligned more to be honest.

Sometimes I have also realized certain colors will give the illusion of imperfections or pick up more imperfections then another color.

 

The hinge is not very robust and with the door open it's susceptible to being banged, leaned on, or generally tweaked out of kilter by the weight of the gas pump's fuel nozzle and hose. You might be able to muscle it back into shape with your bare hands. But if I tried that it would probably just get worse.

 

One possibility is that the gas door misalignment could be the result of a fuel lock actuator repair, which depending on who did it might have pried the door instead of accessing the actuator through the trunk.

 

My G35 door alignment is mint and the hinge is solid, but it sits in a little bit which I never really looked into
