2009 G37xS high mileage goodbye :(
My 2009 G37xS has finally run its course after 270,000km.
Just thought I'd give those with high mileage a heads up of what to expect. The engine/transmission in this car is still going strong, it's the undercarriage and wear and tear that have made it not worth repairing.
For me, this car went through a lot of bearings, balljoints and tie-rods.
-Transmission fluid flush is a must. Did the flush at 245,000km and car went from slipping gears to feeling brand new.
-Steering rack started leaking at 197,000km but did more than 70,000 extra km before starting to get worrisome.
-Carbon buildup. I'd say to clean the throttle body every 50,000km at this point as it'll cause the car to go into limp mode.
-I had no gasket problems whatsoever. Used synthetic oil every 9000km.
What started to go:
-if you live in an area where it snows a lot and the city uses lots of salt on the roads, I suggest 100% you do anti-rust protection. This car did not bode well with rust over it's 11 years (even with anti-rust done)
-The undercarriage maintenance became relatively expensive after 250,000km as most of the wear and tear components start to need replacement. Final notes:
-If you live in an area where it doesn't snow, this car could easily last you 300-400,000km. The engine is extremely reliable. Wear-and-tear is practically all you need to worry about.
I can now drive my Q50s 3.7 year-round now but Infiniti does make some very good and reliable cars.

Thanks for letting us know.
I say the same on the transmissions as the 7AT can be a reliable one as long as it doesnt mix with the coolant from the rad and fluid quality deteriorates.
Rust and ****ty drivers tend to be the only true killers of these cars.

That's what I have now and some of the original parts are giving up, so little by little but I am still doing some repairs.
