Idle Tick from Interior

Help with pinpointing a noise source on a 2013 G37x sedan with 59k miles

At idle, it makes a tick noise (which you cannot hear from the outside) in drive. Under load or in park/neutral, the noise does not occur. Noise still occurs with a/c off. No noise at all when car is off.

Any suggestions on where I could start looking or could point the stealership to this weekend as I'm under warranty?

Video doesn't work because that's a closed group.

I have a idle tick in my car and it's coming from inside the cats. The noise can be heard under the car. Not sure if that's your issue though because I can't hear it from the inside of the car

Thanks for letting me know. It seems probable. I thought about the heat shields but I haven't seen anything out of place during my oil changes. At most, I've only seen rust on the subframe which can be minimized early.

Sounds like the HVAC fan. Do you have the fan set to run when the A/C compressor is off? That is, blowing outside air?

No, HVAC is completely off and the noise does not change regardless of what HVAC settings are.

Not under the hood from what I can tell, though I could be wrong; I would assume that I would be smelling fuel at some point in time.

Would the sound be matching with RPM?

No you would not be smelling gas... when my fuel dampeners went bad, it made it up to about 2500, then too much noise to tell..

But it could be something else.. but this is what it was when i heard a similar noise.
