Oh I didn't realize they were switching the chassis on the STI again. Are you sure about that? Everything I read made it sound like they were changing the engine and transmission for the 1st time ever, but carrying over the chassis, suspension, brakes, interior, etc.
I knew the Golf R would be getting a "new" chassis and I would imagine maybe a new turbo or at least a lot more aggressive tune and more aggressive styling, but who knows what else they might change?
Not surprisingly, details are slim, but the vast majority of rumors suggest the next generation WRX/STI will be all new.
Having a toy car to mod isn't a bad idea. Spouses tend to be less than enthusiastic if you can't pickup the kids because your car is up on jack stands getting a turbo back exhaust
This was exactly the Idea, she'll be happy with the SUV I picked and I'll be happy modding an S14 as I've always wanted one. Everyone wins..
Well, that could be good news. Here is to hoping the new STI and Golf R are just awesome. Who knows, maybe Nissan will finally bring out a new Z car too. Wait, are those pigs flying outside?
Hoping by around 2023ish, most carmakers empty their accounting and marketing departments and subsequently release a wide variety of high-performance, RWD, 6MT sedans. And I shall test drive all and select the one of my choosing.

Far from impossible.
Current trajectory of the market doesn't really support that hypothesis, but hey, a guy can dream, right?
For me, it will be the 2018 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio after it has depreciated a bit.
A bit? How about half? LOL
I know, it's all relative. Still unable to wrap my head around million dollar homes in the PNW which would be $50K shacks in Western NY. God damn Home & Garden Network.
Having grown up in Rochester and living in Seattle... I'm feeling the real estate prices.
Stopped by the Infiniti Dealer to get my 5-year anniversary checkup on my G37s Sedan 6MT. Under 21K miles, got the oil changed again Mobil 1, and I'll probably need to swap brake fluid and power steering fluid.
Test drove the Q50s Red Sport. Not too bad... but pricey. The good news? The rear seats fold down.

So one Western New Yorker with Infiniti's 6MT Sedan to another... what's it like in Seattle? Driving and ownership. Like, do you keep your summer tires on all year?
A used M3, ATS-V, RS3, and Quadrifoglio have all been swirling around in my subconscious mind for many months now. I thought if I just sat down and took the time to compare them I would finally have a winner and could stop thinking about it. I was wrong... very, very wrong.
