Full disclosure, my area has the worst roads anywhere- even "fresh pavement" is rife with unevenness. In the case of my Zed/4, the springs are the biggest issue which I am trying to sort out now. But, yes, when the Adaptive Shocks fail you can expect to pay >$1K per corner to replace.
I see a lot of people saying the same thing. Sport and Sport + is ridiculously stiff, and comfort is too soft. I feel like both my cars with adaptive suspensions have a good balance between modes; the adaptive dampers + air suspension on my wifes car is awesome-- crazy difference between sport + (too firm even for me) sport (just right) and comfort (couch mode).

I wish there was such a balance... maybe it is me (too old) or the nature of the Zed/4 (roadster) chassis. I had wanted the F83 as opposed to the E89 but that's another story.

I tend to leave it Comfort around town just because "meh" and Sport on the highway. Sport changes more than just the suspension firmness (engine MAP, DCT, steering, etc.) and those enhanced dynamics are more prevalent, and appreciated, at "interstate speeds ." And, unfortunately, independent settings can not be adjusted or coded

Check the "multi-quote" checkbox button that's at the bottom right of every comment you want to quote.

Then go to the bottom of the entire page and click the big "Reply" button at the bottom left.

Thanks, Figured it was related to that feature, just wasn't sure how it was used.

Life has been a little busy lately so haven't been following the forums. Originally was planning on buying a CT5 Blackwing but I've since decided to wait it out and buy a used one at some point. We welcomed another child so the wife's 17 Altima 3.5SL had to go.

Picked up a 2025 GX550 in Brooklyn NY and drove it home to Chicago with my wife and our 4 & 2 year olds as well as our 3 month old. Just to give everyone some context, these often sell above MSRP new and used ones are a 5-10k over MSRP.

I saw allocation was posted on Facebook late March and I immediately placed a deposit over the phone. 2 months later the car arrived and we took it home with no games or any extras. I enjoyed the process of the car getting built and then following the ship carrier to the US.

Some things I've done after delivery:
  • 70% windshield tint
  • PPF front windshield
  • 35% front side window tint
  • OEM floor mats
  • OEM Illuminated floor mats
  • PPF rear door sills to prevent scratches from kids climbing into the car

Future plans:
  • rust proofing
  • hatch light
  • OT skid plates
  • OT wheels/tires for winter use
This is our first new car (and probably last) and it will serve as my wife's daily. We expect to own it for a long time (10+ years). This puts my sports car plans on the back burner but that's ok, the G is still enjoyable and fits all the kids (barely) for ice cream runs.

Beautiful truck. This will likely be the one your 4 year old drives as their first car, then the 2 year old a couple years later. Happened to me with our 2007 Honda Pilot.

Well, I've crossed something OFF the list...

Had a euro-spec Audi A6 Avant to drive across Germany and eastern France for a few weeks. Over 900 miles on it... it was bad enough I named it Ms. Piggy. Car parks were 7-point turns every turn, had to park in delivery spots to fit by length, and wallowed like a pig around corners. We were in the mountains much of the time and those little 1.5 lane D-roads which are normally fun were kinda terrifying trying to fit against oncoming traffic, given no shoulders and varying guardrails. So no RS6 Avant for me in the future - no matter how much power the thing makes LOL.

It DID autoshift in Sport mode where I would have shifted... I might be softening on the stick requirement if the next car is actually balanced enough otherwise.

For one glorious day I had a 2024 Mini Cooper in full track kit for the Nurburgring (rent4ring.de) and it was AMAZEBALLS. Track slicks, full Ohlins suspension, no interior, sparcos and roll bar - it was a joy to toss around and actually drifted pretty stably around some of the corners I technically overcooked.

I hope to own it that long but would much rather have them in a manual car, a dad can dream right?

This guy on Reddit decided that an ES350 was a worthy replacement: https://www.reddit.com/r/G37/comment...mment/n4jbotb/

Wouldn't have been my first choice, but he is happy with the decision.

Take a look at the damage a broken motor mount in his G37 Coupe eventually led to...almost 5k in repairs, so he threw in the towel.

Since our cars are all well beyond 10 years old, should we be thinking about proactively replacing the mounts (RWD is a PITA compared to AWD)?

If one fails, it does so slowly right? Vibration, strange clunking sounds when accelerating and turning? I'm trying to avoid the level of damage the person in the post suffered.

I seem to recall some of you run the Z1 urethane mounts with some level of success.

When would you guys say the sport sedan hit its peak?

I’m thinking 2008-2010 timeframe.

E90 M3, B7 S4 and RS4, Lexus ISF, TL type-S, STI, EVO, of course our V36 sport

This was right around when I approached driving age. Which I think is why I’m so hung up on sport sedans. It’s the kinda car that was just firing on all cylinders at a formative age. Just like my pops is for classic muscle cars. Same thing, different era.

The mounts themselves are inexpensive, but shop time on the lift will be significant. I was warned it could be a full day's labor at a trusted shop. However, everything went well and they came in around 4 hours. It cost me $475 after tax. That was 6 years ago, and hourly rates have only gone through the roof since.

There will be a little bit of additional NVH, but nothing like installing a poly transmission mount, which was nuts. Also, they will lower the geometry of your engine by 1/2 to 3/4 inch.

As expected, you will experience better handling by securing the engine, which is the whole point. It's not a dramatic change, but certainly noticeable and welcome. NVH is the trade-off.

Nostalgia aside....probably now. M340i would crush all the above cars. Still have manual options -- M3, CT4 and CT5 BW. CTR and ITS are impressive, so are some Hyundai options if you can slum it with FWD. Audi S4, S3 and RS3 if you want AWD.

I remember when fox body 5.0s were fast AF.

I think it was still strong in 2013 when I bought my car. I grew up in an era where 4 door cars were frowned upon, so similar to how I missed the JDM movement because of my muscle car bias, I missed the sport sedan movement as well, which made me appreciate both alot more when I was older.

1/2 price Red Sport with no miles: https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-...icle/754884342

The resale of these cars continue to plummet. Fantastic car for 30K. Hell, the warranty on the turbos was extended as well.

A 7-year-old car with only 2K miles? Either that's a typo or something is off. Granted you are probably not doing that much driving in Hawaii but come on...

It's a deal, if it is legit.
