Yeah, sure did.

Don't be selling your car in this thread, Backman. However, if that M car becomes your next car, by all means pics and comments.

Make sure to drive one before selling your G. Some folks say the ride is excessively harsh.

great review of the IPL and De Muro is normally pretty hard on Infiniti. Timeless design.

For all intents and purposes, this is a new car: https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-...icle/741187195

8k miles. If the dealer is selling for 36K, they will likely take 33-34K. I wonder what they gave for it on trade in.

This is a great car in the sub 35K price range. Depreciation over two years was large.

I'm probably going to end up getting a C6/C7 Corvette. Been looking for a while, would be a nice car in the $20-30k range.

The VIN decodes to a Red Sport, but something isn't right. Those are fugly sliding calipers on rusty rotors with supposedly less than 10K miles. The Red Sport came with red-painted Akebono fixed calipers front and rear, just like your G (except for the paint). And why are the center caps missing?

Damn. Good catch. I didn't scroll through the pics. Red flags all over this one.

Good catch. They put the wrong brakes back on the rebuilt Red Sport?

I noticed that lately there is a lot salvaged vehicles pop up on the car market. By the way Carfax on this particular car shows that is salvaged but dosent says reason for why is salvaged.

It's a 2012 G37S sedan 6MT. I bought it from a forum member, Jsolo, on July 22nd, 2019 with 36,893 miles at the time and he was the only owner of the vehicle. He ordered it brand new from Infiniti in December of 2011. Right now it has around 48,xxx miles and absolutely zero issues, only a few cosmetic things like rock chips here and there. The back seat has been sat in only a handful of times, ever. Always garaged it's whole life and rarely driven in rain, never in snow (and only rarely when Jsolo owned it, I believe). Very meticulously maintained vehicle by both owners.

The mods I can think of:

Exterior:
25% tint ($250)
Black vinyl on window chrome

Interior:
RJM Clutch Pedal ($350)

Wheels / Suspension:
18x8.5 and 18x9.5 Superspeed RF03RR with Pilot Sport A/S3+ tires (wheels weigh 18 pounds each) ($1200 for wheels)
370Z Nismo red springs ($150)
Eibach front and rear sways ($600)
NEW Z1 2 piece rotors front and rear ($1700)
NEW Centric Posi Quiet pads ($150)

Engine:
2.75" CAI with custom velocity stacks by Rabbit Hole Motorsports ($500)
Ported throttle bodies ($250)
Ported upper intake manifold ($150)
Ported lower intake manifold ($150)
GTR 550cc injectors ($200)
AAM Resonated high flow cats ($700)
Fast Intentions 2.5" CBE with 18" resonators ($1800)
8lb Antigravity ATX-30 battery ($400)
Ecutek tuned by Eugene at Enthusiast Auto Care ($800)
Z1 differential brace ($100)

Total $9,450 or $10,000 with installation labor
Curious to see if you can get north of 20K. You would definitely fetch more from an older enthusiast, but most of the folks shopping our cars are younger with less money to drop on a G. You should see some of the "What is this worth" threads on Reddit. The car will look perfect, then like clockwork people will chime in with 10k, 8K, give no more than 7K type responses. There's also a ton of "Bought this for x, was it worth it" threads. Almost unanimously the responses are "you were ripped off man, I traded an old lawnmower and 5K for my G". Personally, I would start with KBB and take the high end of the range and tack on a small percentage to that as most people use the KBB price to negotiate. If you really want to sell, post it in the Private Classifieds here, then throw a link on the G37 Reddit sub. This will give you two perspectives.

That's part of the problem - so many people buying these nowadays are younger and want a cheap car to thrash and throw around. It may take me a while to find someone willing to pay a premium when KBB will not properly value the car because it doesn't understand the low mileage 6MT sedan rarity. I'm sure between listing it here, reddit, and FB groups/marketplace, it would get plenty of exposure.

I've already got my mind set on a price and it's going to be north of $20k. If nobody wants to pay it, I just won't sell the car. It's not that expensive to insure and I'm fine keeping it for a while because it's fun to drive. I'll just continue being patient on the purchase of our next vehicle and will eventually end up with something.

Would I be okay having 3 vehicles and parking something outside with only a 2 car garage available? The thought makes me cringe a bit. In my mind, I just want to keep all of my cars and become a sort of "collector" as I advance in age. I've got this fantasy of having something like Tony Stark's garage and car collection (although with much cheaper cars obviously). Is it realistic? Nope, just a dream. We are just your average middle class folks.

In their defense, I don't think young people see themselves as trashing the car, but personalizing it (god can't give everyone good taste). Many of those guys are on the reddit sub asking for maintenance tips and trying DIY for everything because they are strapped for cash, but want to keep the car in good health and safe from thieves -> which are the ones we should be targeting with aggression. It does suck that our cars now embody the word clapped, but its fun to defy stereotypes.

I am in your camp with KBB, but it does provide a basis for discussion. I told you guys about my 2007 Honda Pilot w/200K miles that I sold for the top of the range (+5-7%) on KBB and had folks fighting over it (one person was so pissed I had to block their texts), despite a decent sized oil leak from the rear seal. I wasn't nearly as OCD with it, but did take care of it and used my normal OCDness with all the maintenance (also garage kept for most of its life). I also kept records of everything I did, so most buyers spent more time looking at those like they found a set of 1950s Hank Aaron rookie cards under the seat.

My G, as I assume yours as well, is on another level. The guy that recently fixed my vinyl (younger 30s) drives G35 and wanted to buy mine on the spot and said he will pay me whatever I want for it and could care less about KBB. His younger helper, a Bimmer enthusiast said "I normally hate these cars, but I may be converted". Point is, value is in the eyes of the beholder and we are likely not selling our cars to anyone with 10K in the bank looking for a reliable hobby car. We are selling to enthusiasts like ourselves, but that alone may be why they are also so hard to let go of? Selling a high ticket item used is about the story. Personally, I pay more for the story and will wait for the right one to come along, even when I am buying for my driving age teens.

At this point, I still see myself owning a Red Sport, Nismo 370Z and a clean 6MT sedan. I also want to build one of these cars with Moto-IQ as a sleeper I can use to terrorize the youth in my area that are haters. However, finding the right story outside of the community is difficult. I also don't want my little stable of cars rotting in the driveway, and I really have little free time, so I'm in a pickle; thinking about all this is exciting. Back to 150 emails and escalations.
