A 7-year-old car with only 2K miles? Either that's a typo or something is off. Granted you are probably not doing that much driving in Hawaii but come on...
It's a deal, if it is legit.
I am seeing Nismo Zs now in the mid to low 50s, which is insane as these cars just a year ago were 65-70K. A guy I met at the tire shop a few weeks back said Nissan is dropping their pants on all their cars to avoid bankruptcy.
53K for a newish (500 miles) Nismo Z is insane since the car is destined to become a collectors item. Low mileage 370Z Nismos are selling quickly for 38-40K.
Interesting that Nismo Zs are actually going up in value and approaching what they sold for new (41Kish with dealer incentives, which were reality back in 2015): https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-...icle/752502853
Seems that potential buyers of the new Nismo Z are not pulling the trigger either because of the initial inflated pricing of the model, concerns over the future of Nissan and the lack of a manual transmission.
The new 9 speed auto in the Nismo Z gets accolades even from the tuner community, but its not a manual and the sense of manual scarcity is driving up costs.
It would appear I am keeping the G for another two years for basically no other reason than it being by far the best financial decision. With 120,000 km on the clock there is still plenty of life left in her. Having no car or loan payments allows me to save more for a car down the road but it also is a bargaining chip with the Mrs to justify a set of winter wheels to replace the beat up duck feet. Question is, which ones. I like the look of TEs but not the price. I find the Avid replicas to be intriguing but the centre bore is larger than our 66.1. Anyone know of something similar with the correct bore size that is still 18" to allow me to direct swap over my winter tires? https://www.avid1wheels.com/wheel-mo...06-hyper-black
The AE 5MT was a really nice car, 225 hp and model-year-only side skirts. But the 2002 refresh pushed it aside with a 255 hp 3.5L V6 with a 6MT. I mean, nice as that 2001 AE is, the 5.5 gen was all that and more.
I was terribly disappointed in both BMW's. B58/ZF8 speed aside, both cars were under tired -- 225/19s on the 340-- and turn in sucked, the seats were narrow and thinly padded, the ride was harsh, even in comfort mode, they both had rattles at ~20K miles, and the steering wheel was comically thick. In no world would I choose either of these over the S4 or SQ5.
The IS is top of the list for me right now. Only thing really left on my short list to drive is a Macan S.
The only Mecan I've ever driven was not the S. The interior was sooo nice in saddle brown leather, but the drivetrain was meh.
Oh, and the sales staff were aholes. Complete aholes.
I've never driven a Macan at all lol, but pictures make the interior look really nice, especially in the brown and red. With options being basically "a la carte" finding a proper spec'd isn't easy. I don't have new Porsche money, so I'll probably be at an off brand dealership, but I can definitely see the staff being elitist especially when I roll up in a 7 year old Golf with a cat back exhaust in shorts and a t-shirt
I ran out of time this weekend. Maybe next I'll get to this one

Curious to learn your thoughts on the IS500 as most online reviews are not favorable. I saw one in person a month or so ago when I was at Discount Tire and I really liked the car from top to bottom.
That would be cool. So based on how you've aged, would this be a 10+ year car at maybe 5000 miles a year?
Yeah, something 1-3 years old, less than 20K miles, and I'll keep it until I retire, so I sort of want something aspirational. I've had nothing but manuals since 1995. I'm kinda just done with it. Sure, it's fun sometimes, but the "not fun" times have just reached the point they outweigh the "fun" times. Traffic has exploded her in the Charlotte area, and I'm mostly just shuffling my kids to and from school. My wife and daughter were out of town for 6 weeks, and I picked her boring 7 passenger SUV all but twice in that time. I want something more comfy, but still quick/fun enough. And after 17 years, it would be nice to have a car my wife can drive.

There are 3 sort of problems everyone online complains about -- the transmission, rear seat space, and dated tech.
I think the transmission was fine -- I drove the test loop 3x. Once in normal, once in sport + and once in manual. I'd totally be happy with it -- plenty responsive. In fact, I thought the BMW almost felt like a video game with how fast it shifted. Sure, it's slower, but low-mid 4s to 60 basically flat footing the pedal is more than adequate, and the sound -- OMG the sound of that V8.
Rear seat space is on par with the G37, maybe a little smaller than my Golf. I'm 5'10, where I'd sit, I had 2" or so of legroom. Plenty good enough for my kids, and it's not going to be a cross country cruiser.
The tech is certainly a little old, but the touch screen is big enough, and I don't want to have to interact with a screen for everything. Other than that it has everything -- blind spot, adaptive cruise, 360* camera, front camera, etc. The M340 had the new interior with the screen from the A pillar to the middle of the dashboard, it was terrible.
