What vehicle will be a worthy replacement for your sedan when it is time?

How about a 3 year old Audi S5 3.0T 6MT? Fits your budget and your criteria, and while not a sea change in performance, it would be an upgrade, and a refined one at that. Plus... not a lot of 6MT's left in the world. However if manual transmissions aren't your thing, the DCT in the S5 is no slouch either.

Certainly an upscale looker, too.

There's 28 pages of ideas

Lots of guys are playing with the same budget.

How much of a step up in performance are you looking for?

Open to any and all manufacturers?

When are you going to be in the market? A $35k car now will probably be in your budget after another years depreciation.

Yeah, that thing is beastly. When I was reading through the spec sheet I felt like they designed the car just for me to drive at the limit on track.

Hahaha

Made me start looking at them. Although if/when we decide to get a new vehicle it will be the wifes turn. However I still wouldn't mind her driving one of these. The car was stunning!

You're going to have to go relatively high mileage and German if you want to genuinely have a step up in performance. An Audi S5 you're looking at 2014 with 60k+ miles. A 2015 BMW 435 coupe with similar mileage would also be an option. I personally just don't trust dropping that much money on a German car with that many miles.

After my engine took a ****e last weekend, I picked up this:
A few minor bolt-ons and tune...faster whilst hauling 2x4's to finish my basement!

I like the ATS-V, but I can't stand the lack of buttons for heater controls. That touch bar seems like an expensive part that's destined to fail.

Plenty of heat from the engine = problem solved
