What vehicle will be a worthy replacement for your sedan when it is time?
That's a shame you don't track the car. It was made for that.
What do you think of the exhaust note? Aside from the CUE system, that is the only real complaint I have heard on that car. I would imagine that is a pretty easy solution if the exhaust does not sound too inspiring.

Good to hear about the exhaust. Do you have an A/T? How will you know what your car does in the quarter mile if you don't track it or race it?
The video is promising, but keep in mind it is pretty tough to run consistent at a drag strip. Most of his runs were not in the 10 second range even on stickier tires and who knows what else was done to the car's suspension, etc. Definitely possible, but that sort of thing is always a lot tougher than you would think.
We have a local drag strip that is really tough to get traction. Most people with 500hp muscle cars have a really tough time breaking into the 12's. I had a tune on my Evo X that gave me almost another 100hp and in two full days of runs with near perfect launches I could not even beat the stock times magazines were getting for the car.

The only situations that make me laugh out loud next to someone at a light are people who obviously feel self-important in their cars, because of their cars. Usually it's some crazy ricer, but just as often it's this amazing high-performance vehicle which is granny driven. Either way, you can see it in their faces. You know what I'm talking about. Seriously, there's more karma in sharing a smile with the guy in a super clean Accord than there is stroking the ego of some poser in a hopped up Cadillac.
Dude.

Yes, I like to drive quickly, but after some street racer rear ended me on my Harley, I'm a little more careful. There is nowhere to find out what the top-end is like. I'm not gonna do it one the intrstate. That is sheer stupidity. My daughter's Focus ST with a Ford Racing tune is a nice change sometimes, but a stick is just an anachronism now. The 8L90 transmission shifts faster than the Porsche PDK, which shifts way faster than you do. The 8L90 is rated for 900 fl-lbs of torgue, and is used in the Z-06. I like it just fine. This is a daily driver. You might be happier with a WRX STi

I did get larger rear tires. The CTS-V wheels are the same as mine but are 19" wheels. 295/30/19 Pilots. They fit fine and don't rub. You can scoff all you want, but you'd be scoffing at my rear tail lights--if you could still see them. My little sister who drives my old G with the blower would smoke you.

For someone who isn't about tracking or dragging the car you seem to really care about how hard it pulls, Torque limitations of the transmission, shift speed, and getting it worked on to perform a 10 second 1/4 mile; that' a lot of thought into making your daily driver into a strip prepped performer..
The way you're describing yourself (enthusiast looking for some spirited driving) the G37 is actually the perfect set-up...If I didn't know any better, I'd say you're the opposite of that and current efforts are to inflate the ego and brag..Don't forget, driver mod is the most important and, more importantly, there's always someone faster. There's some civic builds for <$5,000 that would really hurt your feelings...
Who the hell cares about a highway pull from 70??? Is that a thing? Even if someone calls you out, I guess they win by default since you'll be shutting it down by 75...
Looking forward to seeing you in the next crash compilation leaving cars and coffee...

I will never take it to the track. I talked with the tuner who did that car and mine will have the same mods. Different tires though. Caddie says it does 189mph stock, and I'll take their word for it. I'll never verify that mine will do it. I'm pretty sure it will hit 200 after the mod, but I'll never try it. I'll never verify that mine will do a 10 sec 1/4 mile. I know it will be very quick and the power will be available at 3000RPM. It's already at least as quick as my blown G37x was. I won't need slicks to do a roll-on starting at 70 when some guy wants to show me how fast his whatever is. It should be pretty rare that I get smoked. It will be stealthy by looking stock and recirculating the BOVs. Lots of ZL1 and Z06 owners will be surprised at my baby!

Seriously, you should try some track days. You will have a blast and learn a ton more about the limits of your car and your capabilities as a driver than would ever be possible on the street. Mashing your throttle is not going to impress us. I think Colin McRae said it best when he said, "Straight roads are for fast cars, turns are for fast drivers."
I heard CTS-V ...
My 10-65 MPH on my base 2015 Q40 awd (stock exhaust ) w/ only Visconti Map 4 (aggressive) Ecutek tune trailing a CTS-V.
If did not bounce my rev limiter on 3rd gear he would not have gained a bit below 65 MPH. I would love to see how this specific CTS-V (year?) pull away from 0-60MPH.
Real world run is totally different than magazine numbers.
On this video
Rolling 2nd (10mph) to redline and 3rd gear pull , he did not gained that much distance until I hit the 3rd gear rev limiter (rev limiter bounced x2) and lost a fraction of seconds, but I was surpized with the outcome. The CTS-V was gunning it since I could see the rear end dip everytime the tranny changes gear (auto)
I find the CTS-V seems a bit heavy from a dig. Don’t get me wrong, I know above 60MPH I don’t have a chance against this car. It’s 0- 60 is even at mid to high 3 secs, but again that’s magazine’s number...
