I just saw this the other day and it got me pretty excited as well. Although, I would go with the GTA (instead of the GTAm) without the obnoxious rear wing and fixed back seats. I did notice that none of the initial run of 500 cars are coming to the States, so who know if we will ever see this car Stateside or not.

That's funny, I thought exactly the same thing. Why get a 4 door with only front seats? That just seems weird. It looks like the rear tires are deliciously wide, but could they at least paint those rear fender flares? That looks awful! This is an Alfa, not a pick up truck.

Yeah, I agree completely. I showed the pics to my wife and she said it looked like someone added a cheap ricer body kit with those black rear fender flares. The last thing I want is a nearly $100K car that everyone thinks I riced out. LOL

They should have done a 2 door coupe edition of the Guilia for this type of spec/trim. Sort of how Infiniti has the Q50 and the Q60. Fiat, I mean Alfa, has been cutting corners for a while. All they did with the engine is just raise the boost, larger intercooler, different tune. Sort of what Infiniti did with the red sport except they kept the back seats. Better off buying a Quadrifoglio and having it tuned. But at the same time, those who buy it won't really be taking it to the track since it's expensive and not reliable, many reviewers who couldn't enjoy it on the course due to the car going into limp mode and ending up in the shop, again. I wish they made the Diva concept a reality, I still lust over that concept to this day.

I bet the people at Alfa working in the GTAm wanted a 2 dr. version, but it was probably way cheaper to use the existing 4 dr. platform, especially with such a limited production run. It's a shame because I bet a 2 dr. Giulia would be a stunner.
I was on autotrader last night and noticed how the Lexus IS-F is still holding it’s value. There’s a lot of high mileage ones selling in the high teens to mid 20k while a lot of low mileage ones selling in the 30k range. Just made me realize how badly our Gs depreciated compared to it. Infiniti really had to make a G56 which would have been an ISF, M3, and XF competitor. If the ISF had a manual transmission, that would be a hell of a car that I would not want to sell. I wonder if it is possible to swap a manual transmission into it? Probably the prettiest IS generation. The generation after this one looks like a squinting bug.
Still looking at Jags. A 2015 to 2017 F-Type Coupe S with under 30k miles has depreciated down to $35k give or take. That's always been my plan, and I bounce through AutoTrader a few times a year to see if it's doable.

If you want to experience the similar V8s the F-Types have, but with a little more zest, try out an XJ with the supercharged V8. Granted those are large family saloon cars, but you can get the XJ supercharged for a real good deal these days as well. I personally like the generation before the newest XJs, the X350. The newer ones of gen X351 being made only have a V6, but the older X351s have V8 with superchargers. Are you looking for F-Types as a fun second car?
I'm looking for that 2k miles per year car that I can take into retirement, wax on weekends, and barnstorm the back roads with.
I understand where you're coming from. Just a courtesy thought, one of my neighbors who owns a Chevy 210, 32' Ford Convertible, and a C2 Stingray only drives them once a month on Saturdays, basically garage queens. Says his millennial kids don't like cars and that the cars will be given to them from his written will when he dies. Can already imagine how quickly they will sell those cars, while I just want to get my hands on one of his cars and drive the hell out of it everyday because life is short and I want it to be fun.
Would you be getting the V8? Or would it have to be a manual V6? I think if you really wanted to, you could make a manual transmission fit into one of the cars from a V6 manual variant from the junkyards or ebay.
I've a 20 year old and 16 year old at home, so there are other priorities with college and family that I just can't quantify. My best loose plan is to continue with the G for another 3 or 4 years, then pick up a 2019 F-Type S Coupe, which was the last model year for the 6MT.
Everything is relative to personal values and finances. And while my next car plans feel realistic, I have to admit age is making me think that when time comes I'll be wanting something big and comfy... which is why for a brief moment there I was really liking the Alfa Stelvio. But I got over that, mostly, LOL.
Jag XJ... yeah, that would be a rewarding car. No doubt.
