What vehicle will be a worthy replacement for your sedan when it is time?

Once I'm a little more financial stable (6months - 1year), my next car will either be:
(1) C63(S) AMG
(2) BMW M3 / M4
(3) Some sort of Porsche
(4) Tesla X.
(5) More affordable nice daily with power (Q50S RS, 335is, etc).

My top 2 choices out of these 2 are the Porsche and Tesla X.

I don't think the depreciation is too bad on these compared to most high dollar luxury cars and especially once you consider how many A/T G37 sedans were leased and crushed the used car market. Another thing that has probably helped me is the low mileage and hopefully all my mods are worth something. But I realize it is no residual champion like an STI, Evo, Mini, etc.

That could be as the pictures are weird on the autotrader listing. It's either that or the new owner bought it from the dealer in TX only a few months ago.

I test drove a couple vehicles in Assetto Corsa w/ a force-feedback steering wheel and an Oculus headset last week. Now I know this is obviously not a 1:1 for real life but it's as close as I can get without renting vehicles out on a track to see how I feel about them lmao.

I used to own a V6 Mustang and my dream was to replace it with a 5.0 eventually but went with the G37xS sedan for AWD and daily driving and because I already had a "2nd vehicle" (motorcycle) but considered replacing it with a 5.0 mustang only because nostalgia and murican muscle. However after driving a couple vehicles, I think I'm leaning heavily towards keeping and maintaining the G37 (or FI it) until I can afford a Panemera to replace it, or I'd look into 3rd vehicle project cars only.

The reasoning behind that is that the big selling feature for any sedan that isn't a G37 for me is really just the performance aspect, everything else in this car is perfect. It handles amazing in horrible weather conditions, and is super comfortable for long trips. Seating/trunk space is more than enough. Gas consumption is normal for a performance sedan. Even pure performance metrics are pretty up there. Obviously real world experience and more experience with different vehicles would help, but the panemera handled so well on the track in comparsion to the 5.0 mustang that it's no competition for me. IMO even the GT-R didn't feel like it drove/handled as well, and doesn't have any of the other selling features of the Panemera. Plus the badge has prestige. Just my 2c.

Would love to have an ISF but they're still so expensive. Closest one to me is $45k with 56k miles.

Nope, my question is which one. If you have ever had a Tesla next to you and see them instantly accelerate, I think almost anyone would. The Model S are getting affordable thanks to the Model 3. I love the thought of perhaps getting some solar panels and having a full "tank" every night. Being that they weigh the same charged or not, it is more consistent than having 14-200 lbs in your tank.

I saw a couple on Craigslist that were too good to be true. I don't know who falls for such scams. I have seen RCFs for 30k, I have seen legitimate ISFs for about 17 on up. There was this time I saw a 2014 IS350 Fsport with around 89k and that was over a year ago. At the same time I found if I remember right a 2011 IS350 for an incredible price. The guy with the 2011 was in the same state but over 100 miles away. I thought about doing it, then I saw the stain on my Diff Cover and was like who would buy my car right now. Turned out that a lazy mechanic at Infiniti didn't clean the cover and the cars diff bushings were fine.
Oh well my car smogged fine and I plan on keeping her for a few more years. I think with my next oil change, I might have the Power Steering fluid replace, it is the only fluid I haven't done yet.

If you want something I suggest you keep your eyes open because there are some great deals that show up. I have a few saved searches on Cars.com, but I never look at them, even though it alerts me that they are there. I bought my car November 2016 right around the same time I found if I remember correctly a 2011 Audi S4 at an Audi dealer for 16k. I also found a Mazda 6 Grand Touring for around 11k with low miles if they had been closer to my home, I would have given it a look. I have even though about buying a car that would have to be transported to me. Around November 2016 I found a Lexus IS350 fsport with almost every feature for 15900 in another state, I think it had around 60k miles. Could have gotten it here for around 800 I think.

I was going to my car and there was a White 2019 Infiniti Q50s might have been a redsport, but damn it looked good. I wish they had put a better interior in it, but it is more modern than ours. I like that Tesla screen people have put in their cars.

One of the cars I would consider would be one of the newer Audi S4 or S5 with the Digital Dash right now they are at least 30k, but they will depreciate to 15k soon and my car, well it won't drop too far now. It is silly but one thing I like about my G is that it only takes 5 qts. When I was younger and thinner I changed my own oil, put it on the curb and just got underneath it. Now I take it to this one oil change place. My Bmws would take 6.9 qts and I would bring my own oil, my own filter, and pay what I pay for my infiniti for just the labor. Now I do have the oil changed more often on the Infiniti though.

How can you tell if it's a automatic or 6spd by looking at the wheels?

Bought my G new (I know...) back in April 2013 for $36.5K, KBB now says it's worth $17.5K @ 30,000 miles.

So at almost 6 years of ownership and 50% depreciated, I'm neither shocked nor disappointed.

I'm really starting to think that I'll keep the G for the long-haul, as one of the last 6MT sport sedans, and grab an EV if/when I ever need to commute by car. Hopefully wherever I settle down has adequate public transit...

These are regular Journey wheels- aka. no 6 spd.



These are sport wheels- yea a 6spd!
