Warranty Packages on a g37XS

So last night i purchased a used 2013 CPO g37XS with 15,000 miles on it. Got a great price for it! Happy with my purchase!

When I was signing all of the papers, they brought up some additional warranty options for me. The car already has warranty up until 60,000 miles. They had an additional warranty program that covered me for the entire life of the car. Plus they had another package that covered the any tire repairs (besides worn out tires), rim repair in case I muff up the rims, paint repair, and also all interior repair. It was a whole package that upped my monthly payment about $42.

I ended up purchasing all of that. In the end, I dont have to pay an entire penny for anything besides oil and tire rotation for the entire length of the car. Not sure if i did the right thing or not, but can someone weigh in on what they think? I know the car is very reliable and what not, but my commute of 50 miles to work total each day may have made it worth it. What do you all think? Did i get scammed into these additional warranties or not? THanks!

Warranties mean different things to different people. I am in a very similar situation as you---40 mile one way commute each day, 2013 xS with 16K miles. I decided to go a step down from the full warranty. The dealer has already repaired a water leak I had ($670). I also got the tire/wheel protection and have already used it twice on 2 wheels that got curbed. In my case, the warranty has already almost paid for itself in the work I needed performed. YMMV

BTW---Steelers suck!

HAHA dwb993 sorry you hate the Steelers.

Thanks for the info though...So sounds like the warranty came in handy for you. I also got that tire/wheel protection as well. I hope it was a good decision to do it. I guess only time will tell.

Just a little fan bashing on the off-season!

Yes, it has paid off for this car. I got the CPO warranty on my 06TL when I bought it and wound up not needing a thing. Thats why I said your mileage may vary.

For me, the peace of mind is worth it. Particularly if it only ups your payment $20 a month or so.

No problem with a little fan bashing here during the off-season. But i'm with you, the peace of mind knowing I don't have to pay another dime for anything besides oil is nice to know. With the long commute you never know what's going to happen. Love the car so far though - the drive is awesome!

You did not mention the total out the door price of the vehicle or the price of the warranty.
I think the only error you made was rolling the warranty into the price of the vehicle and paying finance charges on the warranty.
When I purchased my previous 06 G35 I was driving 100 mi per day round trip and purchased the Infiniti Elite warranty prior to the expiration of the factory warranty. Infiniti allowed me to pay the $1950 charge over 10 months on my credit card with no additional charges. That gave me additional Marriott points for free hotel stays while traveling from NJ to Florida.

Too late now

Just enjoy your vehicle
