Got the Grom BT-3 installed so I can stream bluetooth audio to my no-nav 2012x. It's a neat product. Under $140 and some labor, and it highjacks the satellite input in the back of the radio. This makes the sound quality great and loud, unlike an FM transmitter or app to trick your phone into thinking media audio is phone audio. The quality/volume is just like when I play from a USB drive.

It comes with a microphone, but I didn't connect it, since the car has a mic. I also didn't get an aux cable or usb extension. If the BT works, i don't need those. I just pair my phone audio to the car's BT and the phone's media audio to the Grom. Steering wheel controls work in Pandora (volume and skip) and Audible. It does not display album info on the screen, but I think it's as close to an OEM look/feel without paying for the NAV.

Whats going on with your intake piping? Why have you installed those two little filters rather than plugging them in where they originally go?

That's what I'm thinking... that the Cusco would work better with the Z-cover than the GT-Spec. Personally, I like the look of the GT-Spec better, but if it looks weird with that engine cover...

Shame that Infiniti didn't design an OEM FSTB like they did with the Z. It's also a stupid shame they didn't offer the rev-matching downshift feature in the G like they did in the Z 6MT.

I thought the g does offer rev matching downshift when using paddle shifts.

Uhh, doesn't that defeat the purpose of owning a manual? Part of the joy and challenge of driving a manual is being able to rev-match correctly yourself. In fact, just between you and me, I get a boner every time I perform a perfect rev-match on a downshift..

That's a valid argument for you. Personally, I get more of a kick out of a smooth upshift with a heavy throttle. I suppose if I had more low-speed twisties in my local roads, then the down-shifts would be more important. Tomato, Tomahto.

BTW, in the Z you can turn the rev-matching on/off. It's not an always on thing.

Owned the car for 3 yrs, but the past couple of days have been busy. Thanks to b2autodesign for Swift Springs and B2 20mm spacers, and thanks to Dj1ofDet for putting up an OEM spoiler in the classified's. Next couple of weeks will be busy getting everything installed for the NY/NJ/CT cruise.

Installed invidia gemini.
Installed gt spec strut bar.
Fits great with 370z engine cover it definitely wont rub and on the lowest position clears the cover with ease so no rubbing on hood liner either.

Right down the middle! That's not at all what I expected. Great news, man!

Are you considering some kind of custom work over the Nissan burger?

Thanks guys. Not sure what to do with the burger. I may source another G engine cover and try and retro fit it on the Z cover. Not entirely sure.
