i did do the surrounds, then painted them silver, kinda hard to see in the picture. Didn’t do the back though, left that flat black for now.
Oh, I get what you're going for... silver like the engine cover. OK, I see. You're right that more & better pics would help. How about painting the blank plate to match?
You should post details and pics of your project in last year's thread about this. Might inspire a few other people who were planning on it, but needed a push.
Took off my Works (for sale) and put on my oem duckfeet that I autodipped/spraywrapped gunmetal. Definitely hides the curb marks. Also started the chrome delete with black vinyl. I did the easy straight parts first. Starting to slowly take care of the car again and refresh it's look for it's 10 year anniversary. Wheels are temporary until I can sell both the Works and my set of G35 Rays.
Hello, I am 18 and recently just purchased my first car which is a vq sedan. Im local to the Socal / LA area and i am looking for a group of owners or possible a club that i can get involved with in or around the San Fernando Valley. Opened both front doors to apply additional sound deadening (peel/stick), added fiberglass insulation for sound quality/noise reduction, added 12 db LR low pass crossover to Bose mids ("squawkers"). Lubed the window regulators and window channels while I had the glass out.
Process wasn't too bad however it didn't feel like this vehicle was designed to be taken apart and put back together:
I broke both plastic waist trims ("wood"). Passenger I repaired however driver's is out as I need plastic weld. The door panel is secured very well and the clips below the tweeter don't release easily creating stress on the wood trim which is thin and brittle.
The clips securing the wiring harnesses are snug and distort the metal when removing - difficult even when carefully using needle nose pliers.

That looks SHARP. I'm going back to the duckfeet as soon as I can get tires and TPMS sensors for them. Considering painting them with Duracote Durablue - https://www.duracoatfirearmfinishes....nt=33527890121 in either polished blue-black or black for a similar effect.
GOT to get rid of the 45# each 20" wheels on the sled.
They're XO Luxury Milans, 20x10 rear and I think 20x8.5 front. I can't find it right now, but IIRC the wheel was almost 45 pounds each. And the spokes protrude from the face of the wheel, so mine (from prior owner) are massively curb rashed. And the tires on them are the cheapo no-brand so not sticky at all.

i agree with you that it wasnt designed to be put back together, i also broke things on multiple panels
Test fit one of the new wheels I picked up in the front. Looks like a tight fit . Also got a AGM battery which I will eventually mount in the trunk but used it to start the car up after a long break this winter. Battery is probably heavier than stock but the rear could probably use the weight.
