Hmm, might be the outside diameter, 70mm is 2.75". Well, Amazon order placed, guess well see if I just threw away $50 CAD lol.

Wow.... I just had a Twilight Zone moment there. I just clicked on this thread and thought that I accidentally clicked on Rochester's build thread since this is almost the same exact conversation we are having there. As I mentioned there, the 2-3/4" clamps are just ever so slightly too large for my throttle body connection as well. I have them bottomed out and can still move the coupler on the throttle body inlet which has caused me to throw a CEL due to the unmeasured air entering the throttle body. I was going to try the 2.5" clamps like Andy mentioned, but it seems those may be too small, so I've decided just to go back to my GTM band clamps for now.

That suggestion occurred to me as well. However, the first point of interest in these clamps is their appearance, which this idea would surely compromise.

The second point of interest in these clamps is their functional nature, more akin to a T-Bolt design than a worm clamp, and this idea would likely compromise that as well.

So... no.

Nice idea! LOL I was actually considering wrapping the coupler in electrical tape to make it a bit thicker, but thought better of that idea as well. What the manufacturer needs to do is list a usable range of sizes (in either mm or inches) for each clamp size... and you would hope that each of the size ranges overlap just a bit. That would be VERY helpful.

You telling me, I have like 10 of these clamps now that are not on the car, and cant return because of international shipping lol. Costs more to ship than to buy a damn clamp. You guys are lucky, you dont have to pay the $25 canada tax lol for not being in the US.

I very much want it molded but with the cost you can get a true custom bumper. which is also on my list one day but this is a decent way to hold over until that happens one day. I was in a rush as I needed to have the lip in hand to wrap it to match the rest of the car before the car was wrapped so I sadly ordered at full retail from the dealer and paid $438 out the door. I wouldn't do non OEM either. buy once, cry once. Thanks for the compliment.

Contemplated having it molded but I haven't looked into the cost yet

ADDED: I assume that lip through Infiniti? I don't trust the Ebay versions... someone with experience have any input?

That price sounds WAY better than the $799.99 cdn I was quoted by the dealer in Ajax... the hunt continues.

Any Canadian guys have a better connection it would be appreciated.

EDIT: He also mentioned it came factory painted, but I may be able to negotiate down cause I don't care colour and they can't be hot sellers

As far as I know they all come painted and there are no discounts for different paint codes but I could be wrong.

that price is insane though. depending on how far into Canada you are may be cheaper to order on this side of the border and drive across.

Yeah I wasn't thinking a discount based on colour, more that he may consider liquidating excessive stock? As far as ordering US parts.. I would just save the 2.5hr drive and swallow duty fees for it to arrive to my door

its incredible how much colour can play into the cost of some parts for our cars. Like for example, paddle shifters with a black cowl is double the price of paddle shifters with the grey cover.
