I got the shifter earlier this week along with the matching shift boot ring. I love how the shifter looks, I dyed the sticking black to match the sticking on the shift boot. For those wondering how it looks with the matching ring, the gap is gone, it fits directly on our original shift boot, and the shift boot is secured to the shifter without issues. After calling Courtesy Nissan, they don't sell the shift boot ring or the shift boot separately. You have to buy the whole top center console. Luckily I was able to get a center console for about $40 from a wreaked 2016 Maxima SV.
How did you dye the stitching on your shift ****? I'm planning to get the carbon fiber one but the white stitching is throwing me off. I'd rather have it blue or black.

I used a pipette and black fabric dye. Just a small drop of the dye and wipe off the excess.

Sorry I know this post is pretty old, but did you ever figure out a fix for this? I just got this shift **** and I'm having trouble with the exact same thing.
