Sedan Chat Thread
Lemme get this straight... your scenario is that the battery is dead, and your driver's door keyhole has a blank on it. So after popping the trunk with your physical key, you're looking for a way to unlock one or all of the car doors? Is that what's going on here, Mike?
And all this because of the keyhole blank on the door handle?

[edit] I have no idea why my brain short circuited just now. Well, some idea, but... hahaha, wow. Thar be no keyhole.
I've always wanted a keyhole blank too, but never got one, probably for this very reason. I need to get out of the house more often.

The stinger has a pull handle to open the trunk from the inside. That is once you get inside the car. However, unless you got gorilla arms, you'll never reach it without folding one of the seats and contorting yourself back there.
All cars have that pull handle as it is mandated by law. This is what will have be tapped into to make a "secondary release."

When I had the G, I had a small cable tie attached to the pull handle. Made it very reachable in the sedan.

^^^ That's a good idea. One zip tie away from peace of mind.
So this prepper dilemma renting space in Mike's head is because of the driver's door keyhole blank?
Maybe the solution is to accept that you'll need to break the blank in an emergency.

Its a bit of a non issue, no? I had the exact same scenario just a few days ago. my G had a keyhole blank on the driver side as well, and the battery died because I haven't been driving it and it's sitting out in the cold. The blank pops off really easily without even the need for tools, so I just popped it off, opened the door, put the tender and I was good to go. I could see this being a bigger issue if the battery was in the trunk I guess.
I like that zip tie on the handle idea.

^^The stinger does have the battery in the trunk. A big one too, H7 AGM. Assuming one can get the hood open, there's a spot to connect jumper cables to. Direct trunk access is not entirely required unless the battery is completely dead and/or being replaced. Getting at the battery is a pita. The liner, toolkit and spare tire have to come out first.

^^The main bedroom in the house is directly above the gas furnace and gas water heater.... Lets just say there are weekly trips to the basement to ensure no funny business with either.
